Welcome to Black Bear Riviera, your Hibernation HQ. Serenity abounds with the quiet sounds of nature and babbling waters of Tillie Creek mere steps away. Unwind in the hot tub with sweeping views of the Sierra Nevadas & Lake Isabella. Vintage charm and modern amenities provide all you need to relax and revitalize after a day of hiking, white water rafting, skiing or exploring local shops & attractions.
The cabin is situated on a 1 acre lot, tucked away from the main road. There is a large wrap around screened-in porch with a spacious dining table and seating area. Perfect for taking in the views including deer on the regular! Laze around the outdoor gas fire pit or have a soak in the hot tub while star gazing. The post and beam cabin was built in 1965 with vaulted ceilings and tons of charm. Oversized sliders extend the view into the cabin. On colder days, the pellet stove adds extra warmth and cozy cabin ambiance. The newer swamp cooler and additional AC unit in the loft keep the cabin nice and cool on hot summer days.
The kitchen has all the amenities to cook and entertain at the cabin! The "Bear Bar" is a combo coffee & cocktail station. Pick your poison! We've got you covered. Other amenities include a record player and blue tooth speakers. There's an eclectic selection of vinyl or bring your favorite LPs to play or stream your tunes digitally. There's a large flat screen tv and wifi for streaming. There's also a DVD player with a collection of "bear themed" movies because... we are in bear country.
There are three main sleeping areas with fresh linens, comforters and in colder months, plush Pendleton throws. Bedroom #1 is a spacious loft with a newly renovated half bath, new memory foam queen bed and reading nook. It's accessed via a staircase (not a ladder!). This is where you'll find board games and extra blankets. The second bedroom on the main floor has a double bed, reading nook and sliders to the side deck. The third bedroom is the smallest with a twin bed and is accessed via the second bedroom. This is where you'll find an acoustic guitar should you feel inspired.
The main bathroom on the ground floor has a shower/tub combo. A new tankless water heater and great water pressure equals nice hot showers! Ample towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided.
The location is convenient and easy to get to; 6 minutes to Kernville, minutes to Lake Isabella and 20 minutes to Alta Sierra Ski Resort. Or make the cabin your base camp for day trips to Remmington hot springs or Trail of 100 Giants (check for seasonal road closures before you go).
Pretty much all one needs for a true hibernation destination!

We loved our stay here. The location and views are wonderful. The house is very well maintained and has everything you need for a cabin weekend. We are looking forward to coming back again!
We loved staying here for the perfect summer getaway with our kids. We played in the creek and enjoyed the screened in patio - morning views, sunsets, and listening to the frogs at night. The accommodations were comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you!

Thank you for staying Catie! So glad you enjoyed the cabin. Hope to see you again down the road!
Robyn’s cabin is one of the most charming and beautiful places we’ve ever stayed in. The property itself is stunning with beautiful desert and mountain views as well as a creek running just down from the patio. There is a wraparound screened in porch that is lovely to have meals in, and a hot tub and fire pit that we took advantage of, too. We loved our stay here and found Robyn’s cabin to be very well appointed and thought out. It was very clean and we really enjoyed the art and vintage touches throughout the place. We will be back, thank you, Robyn!

Thank you so much Melinda! It was an absolute pleasure to host you! Welcome back any time!
Nice and cozy unit. Located a bit far from center but this makes it charming. Faced to river. The unit is self-contained and has everything one needs for everyday life. Balcony with view is impossible to leave. The owner is very attentive to guests' needs and responsive.

Why they chose this property
There is so much to love about this cabin. The first thing that drew me to it was it's creekside location. It's so rare to find a property with creek access. Not to mention the breathtaking scenic views of the Sierra Nevadas and Lake Isabella. Even though the cabin is tucked away from the main road and feels secluded, it's mere minutes to local shops and attractions.
What makes this property unique
In addition to the wonderful Tilly Creek, the unique mid century architecture of this cabin is truly special; vaulted ceilings, wrap-around screened-in porch, with over-sized glass sliders. Tucked away from the main road on an acre, ensures privacy and quiet.
