Hosts are very accommodating. Excellent location that makes many attractions walkable The flat is also very close to Vijzelgracht metro station. Washer and dryer are very convenient.Layout of the flat is unique but functional. The kitchen is well stocked. There is no cooktop, if that is important to you.Very comfortable apartment.
The location can’t be beat—walking distance to so many of Amsterdam’s attractions, plus great restaurants, all in a very walkable and uncrowded area. The apartment itself is spotless, modern, well equipped, and full of charm. Malo and Maarten are wonderful hosts. They even provided breakfast for our entire stay, with fresh bread, snacks, yogurt, cheese, juice, and prepared meat. The photos are completely accurate. We couldn’t have asked for a better place.
Perfect location to feel a bit like a local but also close to transit and easy walking to everything. Loved the quaint but very clean property and would love to stay here again in the future.
We are so happy that we found this place for our stay in amsterdam. Malo and Maarten are great hosts, and the apartment is truly lovely! It is very clean, modern, well equipped, and charming. Beautiful basement apartment in the middle of everything. We were walking distance to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, the Leidseplein and Heineken brewery. Excellent location!
The area was spacious and clean. The host supplied breakfast for our entire stay with fresh bread, yoghurt, cheese, juice and prepared meets. The location is amazing. There is a metro stop that is just a 5 min walk. There are shops and restaurants everywhere. There is a grocery and wine sire minutes away. It exceeded our expectations
Our stay was just what we needed on our first trip to Amsterdam. Maarten and his wife were so sweet to leave us breakfast in the fridge, the most delicious bread, coffee, and various other snacks on the counter for us to enjoy!! We loved the attention to detail. The location of their place was also SO ideal! It’s further enough from city central, but not too far (I believe their house is the 4th canal over from city central). VERY walkable and not as crowded which we liked a lot. They also have bikes you can use if you please! Would recommend :)
The host were amazing, helpful and easy to communicate with them when needed. The apartment was clean and provided plenty of space for our family of 3. The neighborhood was safe and convenient to the metro with a nearby market. 10/10 recommend and hope to stay here again in the future.

Nicely appointed, perfectly located apartment
Lovely, stylishly decorated, very clean apartment. The location is perfect. We were within walking distance to most museums, restaurants, grocery stores, canals, shopping areas etc. This type of accommodation was a perfect fit for our family. Many thanks to our friendly hosts.
The place is wonderful and in a great location!
Maarten was super helpful with my check-in.
For me this trip was work related, so the internet speed was very important. For anyone needing fast internet for any reason, I would book this place. Wifi speed 200mbps and wired speed >500mbps.
Such a perfect place to stay. Lovely home. Location was very walkable to all our interests. Hosts were so friendly and helpful. Felt very safe. Off the beaten track. Weekends were very busy but exciting. Quieter during the week. Walking food tour was the best
Hosts are amazing, apartment safe and comfortable. If you have problems with steps, there are a few outside and inside. Excellent location. We easily walked to most neighborhoods and metro always nearby. LOVED using the bikes! Unfortunately, a lot of our visit was rainy, but we still had an excellent experience!
Great property for our recent stay in Amsterdam. Exactly as described and shown in photos. Host was perfect with great communication and friendly banter. All in all a wonderful spot to spend time in. Do not hesitate to grab this rental. Would definitely return when travels take us back to the wonderful City of Amsterdam.
Maarten and Malo are the best hosts we have ever had, and their one bedroom private apartment was beautifully appointed and so comfortable for our 2 week stay. Malo met us upon arrival and showed us through the apartment. We were amazed that the refirgwr
This is a cosy home away from home amongst the beautiful canals of Amsterdam!
Very quiet and well appointed with everything required in all areas: kitchen, living area and bathroom. Even a small patio off the comfortable bedroom.
Included are bikes that Maarten adjusted to fit each of us.
Malo and Maarten are caring and conscientious hosts who went out of their way to address our inquiries quickly and thoughtfully.
We don’t hesitate to recommend this excellent Amsterdam VRBO.
My wife & I were lucky enough to stay here for a few days in April and everything was just perfect. You can’t beat the location for the sites and the home was very well equipped with everything we needed and more. We were supplied with all of the basics and then some with milk, juice, cookies, danishes and plenty more! Milo & Marteen we’re great and offered us some great tips on the local area including which canal tour to take (Frienship Tours). Do not miss this great way to see the city!! Thank you for everything!
This accommodation was perfect - great location, fantastic vibe, clean, wonderful hosts that supplied some lovely food and toiletries and were extremely helpful. We walked to the station 5 minutes away to get the train to Central and beyond. Just change trains at Zuid (about 3 stops)…the next station is the airport…quicker and cheaper than a taxi. We also walked to the galleries from here - 10minutes. And walked to most places…Ann Frank, Central station, Rembrandt Square. Restaurants and supermarkets around the corner and of course a canal! You need to book when you see the vacancy as it books up quick and no wonder, it really is perfect!

Wonderful apartment with gracious hosts in great neighborhood
We just returned from four fabulous nights at Malo and Marteen's beautiful and well-situated apartment in Amsterdam. The apartment has everything you can imagine you may need including guide books, drawing materials, Netflix access, a safe deposit box, a hair dryer, a washer & dryer, shampoo & body wash, cozy bedding, a well-stocked fridge for breakfast as well as a daily delivery of fresh croissants & bread, and bikes for four! It's honestly one of the most efficient and well-styled one bedroom apartments I've ever stayed in. Our family of four (daughters 12 and 10) fit perfectly into this space. On top of that Malo and Marteen were such gracious hosts. Unfortunately, our younger daughter was quite sick when we arrived, and Malo helped us find the pharmacy, took us to her local doctor, and even offered to stay with our daughter since we were there for a reunion. They responded immediately to every question we had. Marteen helped us get the bikes seats set right and recommended a wonderful steak house for dinner down the street. We're already looking forward to our next trip to stay with Malo & Marteen, and honestly, we couldn't recommend this apartment more highly!
My wife and stayed in the apartment four nights. Maarten met us upon arrival and went over the functioning of the apartment. The apartment was well stocked with coffee, hot chocolate, cereal, yogurt, cheese, ham and bread. The street is quaint and quiet yet close the tram and walking distance to good restaurants. We ate in the neighborhood every evening.

About the host
Hosted by Malo Zacar
We are a French-American-Dutch family of five, living in the house above the rental unit. We enjoy receiving guests from all around the world and tell them about the wonderful things that Amsterdam has to offer.
Why they chose this property
The house is a unique piece of history. Build during the late 1700s as (I have been told) a warehouse for tea brought from afar, it has a unique charm. It is located in a neighborly residential street in one of the most beautiful parts of the center of Amsterdam. It is set between the Prinsengracht and Lijnbaansgracht canals, and within walking distance from all the major attractions (museums, etc) of Amsterdam. Our plan is to make the rest of the house as beautiful as the apartment we made for our guests.
What makes this property unique
I love the fact of being able to live in the center of Amsterdam, with everything the city has to offer nearby, while at the same time having a beautiful playground for my children (Amstelveld) around the block.
