Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Expedia and partner VRBO did not disclose this was rental and that there was no parking on site for the unit we rented. We had to go to another property. Information on unit was not discussed until we paid for the reservation. Property manager, VRBO nor Expedia ever disclose the lack of parking on the property or on site services. We are requesting a refund for the 4 nights that we didn’t stay at the property. Very inconvenient and lack transparency.
I plan on writing a full complaint letter to Home Away. I have used several Home Away rentals in past. Doesn’t Home away have any standard Size? This property was so disappointing I wished I had voiced adamant complaint upon Check in and gone elsewhere. This property can’t possibly be up to anyone’s standards. Here’s the short list:
- Door sticks- had to put full body weight behind to force open, door did not close completely thereby not locking door
-shower was disgusting, drain deteriorated/ corroded, tile not clean, shower curtain and bar not right - like they were thrown in there as an afterthought
- Towel situation , there are not enough towels for 2 people for a week. ( yet description states property accommodates 4?). The thought of not having a clean washcloth daily is revolting to me.
So as I stated this is just the short list and I will certainly elaborate once I am home.
It doesn’t take much to make even small surroundings comfortable, and well-appointed. Unfortunately no attention was given to make this property one a traveler would want to come home to while they are away from home.
I might add that unless the situation is made right for me, I will go to great lengths to NEVER use Home Away again, and make sure those I may influence are aware of this situation too.
the location was great. Nice restaurant across the street at the other hotel with great appetizers and breakfast. we were nicely surprised with two queen size beds and a pull out couch, since we were expecting only a king and couch. the pool was nice and clean. lobby of hotel was nice. newspapers in the lobby. Luise kindly greeted us and made sure we got all that was promised to us. the only two negative things I could see was peeling wallpaper and paint needed to be touched up in the lavatory area. it was a nice experience overall.
