Beaches near the Apartment
Armenopetra Beach
Armenopetra is located 73 km southeast of Heraklion and 5 km east of the seaside village of Keratokampos. The name is taken from the rock in the middle of the beach, reminiscent of boat sails. It has small pebbles, mixed with sand and shallow turquoise waters. The region is not developed at all and there is nothing around except some greenhouses growing bananas and vegetables. So you can easily find a spot on the beach where you will be yourself.
Kastri beach
Kastri is located 72km southeast of Heraklion, in the sheltered bay of Keratokampos! Kastri has the unique harbor in the region, serving the local fishermen and boats. Adjacent to the port (on west), there is a small beach. It is a beautiful sandy beach, with many tamarisk trees around, which is not organized!
Skouros Beach
West of the beach Kastri, there is the larger beach of Skouros. It is a beautiful beach with sand and pebbles, which is not too crowded. Along the beach there is a line of trees, where you can find shade. Moreover, wonderful rock formations in and out of the sea break the monotony of the shore. Especially, in the west part, there is a large rock called Skouros, which gives its name to the beach. It is a good choice for camping and leisure!
Dermatos Beach
Dermatos is located 5 km west of Keratokambos. It is formed in a small valley on the western banks of the river Anapodaris. Dermatos is a stunning beach with pebbles and sand, perfect for relaxation and staying remote. All around there is nothing other than olive groves and tamarisk trees on the beach. The sea water is relatively shallow and has a wonderful blue color. It is a favorite destination of campers and nudists, because it is very quiet, but still very close to the well-developed Tsoutsouras. To access the beach, follow the paved road that starts from Tsoutsouras and heads westwards to Keratokampos!
