This property was a perfect get away for our family. The cabin had all of the necessities and the setting was serene! The cabin was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the views out the front doors of wildlife in the blueberry fields. We would love to go back next year!

What makes this property unique
This cabin was built by our father, a theoretical physicist, who wished to spend his retirement enjoying Mount Desert Island’s natural beauty and calming pace. His lifestyle was monastic in nature - a mixture of prayer, study and working the land. His extensive library encompassed volumes on science, art, poetry, history and many other subjects. As you may have already noticed, he was also an amateur astronomer who devoted many a cold Maine night to looking through his telescope; his observations were recorded in international astronomy databases.
He always believed that this serene spot encouraged spiritual rejuvenation. We hope that this holds true for you as well!
