My beach house is a 4 bedroom and 3 bath house located in the beach neighborhood of Pacific Beach, known as PB in San Deigo CA. For the new traveler to PB, imagine the California beach life you see in the movies and this is exactly it. Year round you see people of all ages riding beach cruiser bicycles up and down the streets, and of course along the lengthy boardwalk.
You will love my place because you get an actual house. This is not a condo, or apartment. Master bedroom has a California King bed and joining master bath suite with gigantic tub built for two, the second bedroom has a queen sized bed and full bathroom 2 feet outside the door to the bedroom. The third bedroom is downstairs and has a set of twin bunk beds and a third twin bed that is not bunked. One of the bunk beds is very low to the ground so I would only put a child there but if you have a smaller adult who is willing to basically lay very low to the ground then that is an option.
The fourth bedroom is in an attached back unit. It is a one bedroom/one bathroom ADU or Mother-in-law unit that has a separate entrance and there is no direct access from the larger house. This is a good if you have some members of your group who go to bed early or wake up early they can use the back apartment, kitchen, and living room without disturbing anyone else. There is another hide-a-bed in the living room of the back unit. and a large couch that can sleep at least one person. The main front living room has a large long sectional sofa is also an option if they find that one bed to be too much of a hassle to get into. Either way, there are beds for 10 people.
If you love to cook while on vacation, then my large fully stocked kitchen is the way to go. Included coffee maker with coffee will always be available.
My place is in the ideal location. It is 13 blocks straight west to the beach, No zig zagging or getting lost. Now that might be a little far for some people to walk (1.2 miles or 20-23 min leisurely walk) so I am now INCLUDING 5 beach cruiser bicycles to get around and 3 combination locks in the price of the rental. This is my preferred mode of travel as street parking can be a pain in the summer months. The famous Mission Bay is about the same distance straight south.
One thing you should know about my house is I have a very strict quiet hours policy. Absolutely no loud voices, music, or socializing outside after 9pm on weekdays (Sunday - Thursday) and 10pm Friday and Saturday. I maintain this policy to be kind and respectful to my neighbors. I have had to evict one guest recently for violating this policy, it was not a pleasant thing to have to do but was the only way to keep the peace in my neighborhood. If you are planning on being rowdy or loud then my place will not be a good fit for you. Thanks for understanding.
As for the main PB drag.....My house is 3-4 blocks from everything you could ever want: 100's of restaurants, bars, Vons grocery store, Trader Joes, Coffee shops, and my absolute favorite Frozen Yogurt place Yogurt On The Rocks is 3 blocks away. It is the best I've ever had in all my travels.

Very nice place that was able to accommodate our large group. Host was very responsive and accommodating on several requests. We would definitely book this place again if we come back to San Diego.
It came as advertised and was a great experience for our family traveling from Michigan and Washington DC. We made good use of the hot tub and the fire pit. We certainly would return here on another visit.
Very comfortable home with nice outdoor space.Mike, the owner, was very responsive, friendly and helpful. There was an issue with the living room television, Mike replaced it the following morning.
A perfect stay for a family of 9—5 adults and 4 kids. The attached unit is great for quiet time. Backyard with its hot tub, casual seating area and fire pit is fun and relaxing. Good restaurants and fast food within a few blocks, beaches are a mile away. Fully equipped in every way.
Property merry all expectations. Cleanliness was obviously a top priority, and the host exceeded or expectations. Communication with host was excellent as well. Answered all questions immediately. Definitely will stay again.
Spacious, clean, quiet neighborhood place to stay. 3 blocks from groceries, shops, restaurants and 10 blocks from the ocean. The annex part provides great privacy for a couple or up to 3 people (single pullout sofa or blow up bed available there) and main house is good for two couples and up to 3 kids. Jacuzzi tub in main house along with another full bathroom and bathroom/shower in the annex.Host is very responsive.
We stayed with extended family and this space worked out great. The house has an entire separate attached in-law unit so there are 2 kitchens which was really useful. The location really cannot be beat as it is just a short walk to PB Fish shop, Cafe Athena, Charlie's Best Bread, Trader Joes, and lots of other great take-out. Unfortunately it was quite rainy during our stay so we didn't make use of the outdoor space apart from the kids taking a quick dip in the hot tub.

Comfortable home - responsive owner
Home was exactly as represented. Very clean and well maintained. The owner was terrific - even installed a baby gate for my grandson. Immediately answered questions. We had a happy time. We did find the climate control/air conditioning to be not as comfortable as we hoped. The owner immediately problem solved with us and agreed to adjust the settings, but in general the home was warmer than we desired.

We went as a family of 5 to San Diego. Staying in PB was something I worried about due to my memories of PB being very loud at night. In preparation, I emailed with Mike about this concern and he provided straightforward, understanding answers to my questions. Then we went with his place and were beyond satisfied. First off, it is bigger than I expected. I had looked at every picture but it actually felt bigger than the pictures made it out to be. The three bedrooms workout great for our family. There is a perfect parking spot right in front of the property just for us, and our obnoxiously large SUV we rented. Mike was the perfect mix of available but not in our business. The location is perfect to get anywhere in San Diego. Everywhere we went was 15-20 mins away. Great place for a family looking to do it all in SD! Thanks Mike

Loved the location and the ability to park a few cars. Felt safe, friendly neighbors, easy access to freeways and beaches. Quick drive from airport. Would suggest adding a few boogieboards and a shovel for sand toys. Plenty of beach towels and shower towels, cooler and ice packs making beach trips easy and convenient. Loved having the hot tub, grill, cornhole, and fire pit in the backyard because we could relax in the evenings and still keep the kids entertained.
My family had a great time in San Diego. Michael’s listing was perfect for our needs. Communication during the whole process was great. Location was perfect. Wonderful stay.
