This place was amazing. Very clean and close to beach and great views. There was 5 of us and with the 3 bedrooms it was great. Bedroom and bath on each floor. Love the area to walk everyday and close to stores if you need them.
We were in San Diego for a graduation for me and my friend. We brought our 2 families and had the best time. It’s very close to the beach and walking distance to a small market and lots of dining. We had a great time and it was a great location!
Con:The kitchen was smaller than shown in the pictures. The second-floor washroom toilet had some issues. The master bedroom bedpost frame was very loose and unsafe. There were many flies in the garage and living space, and small rodents were noted on the patio for a few days, so we weren’t able to use it. The master bedroom does not have A/C, and the unit that was there did not work at all.Pro: beach within steps. Lots of cool places to eat and coffee shops, and the famous cinnamon rolls shop within walking distance. Supermarket (Ralph's) within 5 minutes driving.

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the fantastic location steps to the beach, shops, and restaurants!
We are sorry to learn about the issues you experienced during your stay. We always encourage guests to reach out to us right away if anything isn’t working properly, such as a loose bed frame, backed-up toilet, or any other maintenance concern, so we can send our team to address it immediately. It's all fixed now.
The A/C system is brand-new (!) and works great in every room, so it sounds like the remote control may have just needed a new battery. We really wish you had reached out - we would have been happy to fix it for you immediately. Sorry to hear about rodents you noticed on the patio. It's the first time we got such feedback. We have regular pest control service in place and immediately scheduled an additional visit as soon as we received your message. Flies are unfortunately a common seasonal occurrence throughout San Diego toward the end of summer, which is the only time of year they tend to appear in the city.
We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to make every stay as enjoyable as possible.
The house has a lot of stairs we didn’t mind but for an older person or a baby to be carried it will be hard to climb. The decks at every level and the view of the ocean from the master bedroom deck was lovely. We used the grill once but mostly the local restaurants behind the corner. The boardwalk and the beach are steps from the house, we loved it. We had a great time with family and we will be back!
Our stay at this property was wonderful. We spent 10 days in San Diego and were in town for a wedding and leisure. The property comfortably fit my husband and I, our two kids, and my parents. We loved the proximity to the beach and how close we were to so many restaurants and things to do.
The beds were comfortable. The space was clean and I liked that all the bedrooms were on speedster floors so we could all have our privacy.
Thank you for a great stay!
The Shared Dreams residence was a beautiful house in a great location for our group of 4 (2 couples 53-58 year old) to celebrate a 33rd anniversary. We were able to stay local in the Mission Beach area to enjoy the beach and local restaurants and also travel the short distance to enjoy the great places in the City of San Diego, Coronado and La Jolla. Shared Dreams had 3 floors with plenty of room, a garage which fit our medium sized SUV, plenty of outside space with three patios on each floor with the great views of the beach and Pacific from the 3rd floor patio. The garage was stocked with plenty of beach chairs, beach towels and beach toys which came in handy. Everyone in the area, including the neighbors, the staff at the stores and restaurants were all very friendly and hospitable which made our stay that much more enjoyable. We enjoyed a very short walk to Mollys for breakfast or Moe's for dinner or a walk along the beach to The Waterbar, World Famous or other places to enjoy a great meal, drinks and a beautiful sunset. Great house in a great location.
Very clean home , everything you need to cook for your family . The host was attentive to answering questions . Great location to everything in the beach town . Steps away from the beach which we loved to walk every morning . The only things we found that need attention are the 3rd floor shower . It’s very narrow and unless you have the curtain closed the shower head sprays onto the floor in front of the toilet .. I believe it’s just the way it was most likely added to the upstairs bedroom and is a very tight space . And also … they make not of a hot tub … there is no hot tub on the premises , rather a jacuzzi bath tub in the third bedroom area . So that could be taken out of the VRBO description . The garbage cans were completely full when we arrived on Tuesday afternoon . The welcome book says they need to be put out on Monday evening . So either the previous occupants or the cleaning service had forgotten to do that . And the cabinets under the sink smelled awful like old garbage as well . I had to clean that up and wash out the garbage can the first day , otherwise the odor would have been so unpleasant the entire week . There is a Ralph’s grocery store right down the street in pacific Beach that is convenient to drive to . A lot of restaurants and bars available as well . It was a great stay . We would definitely be interested I staying again if we make our way back there .
This house was wonderful for our family of 5 for spring break. The house is only a few steps to mission beach and has rooms perfect for kids and adults. The downstairs bedroom feels separate from the rest of the house which was nice for our au pair. We enjoyed the beach accessories located in the garage. The kitchen was well equipped with items for cooking. The upstairs bedroom did get quite warm but the AC works well. My only complaint was the trash outside the garage. There were two large bins from another house blocking the gate for our trash bins and they were overflowing with trash all over the street. It was quite disgusting trying to get to our trash bins and somehow the garbage truck failed to pick up the trash on Monday so it was like this the whole week we were staying there. Otherwise we really enjoyed the house and the area of mission beach, highly recommend!
This home was better than expected! I knew the location according to googlemaps, but wow, 1 block from the beach!!! I loved everything in the house (except the stairs that are odd), and appreciated a larger garage to swing the car around, and not have to do a 25 point turn. We also took advantage of the beach chairs to watch the sunrise and sunsets. The house was perfect for our needs. I just wish we had more time there.
The location is absolutely fantastic - 2 houses from the beach, and super close to restaurants and coffee/cafes. We had 2 young kids and it was super easy to walk to and from the beach multiple times a day. We brought our nanny and the bottom floor bedroom was perfect for her. The property manager was easy to work with, they told us they had scheduled garage door maintenance during our visit that required us to park our car on the street for several hours, we said that didn’t work for us (the garage door was functional so it wasn’t urgent) and they rescheduled the maintenance at our request. We had 3 adults and 2 young kids (ages 5 and an infant) and the main floor had enough space for us.
Our stay at Shared Dreams was great overall. The house was accurately listed, steps to the beach, stocked well, clean and well furnished. There are tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We were never more than a 15 min drive to anywhere we wanted to go for the day. It was plenty of space for our multi generational vacation ages ranging from 4 - 67. There were a few maintenance issues but the property manager was incredibly fast to address the issues. Carpet needs replaced in bedrooms but that is a very minor. Linens and beds were very comfortable! Friday and Saturday nights we were between two very loud party houses. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
I came with my son and college friend and here three kids for a week around Spring Break (kids ages 10-16). Beach access was perfect, including a warm outdoor shower and hose for getting the sand off. We enjoyed Belmont Park and many walkable attractions and restaurants. Loved the trivia night at Guava Beach Bar just around the corner and a fancy night out for the moms at JRDN restaurant (try the lobster roll!). And pasta and Pizza at Luigi's down by Belmont Park was GREAT - get the in house made Portuguese sausage pasta dish! Of course we went to Legoland, San Diego Zoo, the Safari Park (book an extra safari adventure ahead of time, worth it), Old Town, and used both cars and public transportation easily. There's no need for a car to enjoy the neighborhood or to get downtown, but it was a easy drive with little traffic to get most places. The Go City pass was a great investment too.
House itself was as pictured - comfortable, great separation of space, nice balconies and outdoor space, three bathrooms and room to sleep 7-8 comfortably. TVs in every room and a gas fireplace. Lots of room for everyone. Stairs are steep but we had no problems with anything in the house - well cared for vacation home with lots of beach equipment in the garage including 4 boogie boards!
Only complaint was loud weekend neighbors (in violation of noise ordinance) but the rental agency was very responsive and can't be responsible for spring break antics - just bring your earplugs if it's a big party weekend! And every other night was quiet and the boardwalk was fun and felt safe.
The checkin was very easy with a door code prior to the stay. The house was perfect! We had two families with 3 small children. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. They gave you plenty of paper products/soaps. I have stayed at numerous VRBO and often they give you toilet paper/paper towels/dish tabs for 1-2 days and you have to buy more while staying at the house not here! It was very well stocked with everything you would need!
There was plenty of beach items for the kids. The hot water outside before going in was great for the small kids on cooler spring days.
We had a flight cancellation and requested to stay an additional night. I had sent a message extremely early as we were trying to figure out our plans and the management stay got back to us very quickly and were able to allow us to stay an additional night!
There was a rowdy group of college kids that came to stay a few nights but that was the only negative I can think of but obviously an unavoidable issue for the area.
The location can not be beat! I have stayed at numerous places in Fl/Al in condos and it was much faster to run back to the house here to grab forgotten items than any place I had stayed! There were so many restaurants, coffee shops, etc close by! We had such an enjoyable trip and hope once our kids get slightly older (it was a fairly long flight from Iowa and the time change was a bit tough in the kids) we will come back here again and again!
Cant say enough about the house and management!
Let me start with the good parts. The house was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well stocked and new appliances. The beds were very comfortable. It was great having air conditioning, which isn’t always available in the area. I had only one question about the air conditioner and I got an immediate call after I texted. It was great to not have to go buy paper products and soaps. The living room furniture is nice too and clean with a nice tv. The beach is very nice and super easy to get to. Since it is winter, not as many people on the beach itself. The boardwalk is the busy spot with lots of runners, biker, skaters, etc. It felt very safe though, in the daytime. We didn’t go at night.
I have to say, the photos look a lot different than the actual rooms in the house, but the rooms aren’t bad, just a bit older looking in person.
I live in a 3 story house, but the stairs in this rental are very narrow. Coming down the stairs, with my size 8 foot, I had to turn my feet sideways. Very steep stairs. Getting luggage up and down to and from the 3rd floor took concentration and strength. Something to think about if you’re older. Finding the house was not easy. There’s no house number on the garage, so we drove around and around trying to locate it. It’s not the owner’s fault, but the view from the balcony is a burned house, a black hole and a group of young guys live directly across and have no window covers and the rental has no window coverings in the living room, so you look at each other across the sidewalk. (We taped a length of paper towel for a cover on the doors). They are young, so of course, they had lots of friends over and the doors open onto their balcony. One thing to consider is that we are older. The negatives I found may not bother others.
Second time staying and celebrating a wedding and birthday. Flying from the very tip of the East Coast (low country) to SD will never get old. And oh ya, the view!!!
We had a great stay at this home! Perfect location, everything within walking distance, comfortable, clean, couldn’t ask for more! There were 6 adults in our party and the home was just the right size:) Last minute booking that couldn’t have been better! Thank you!
This is a fun rental, cute decorations, a bathroom and balcony on every floor. The top floor balcony was amazing for relaxing on and watching the waves (can’t see ocean from other balconies). Very easy walk to the sand, we’d go barefoot. The hose and WARM shower outside were very helpful for getting sand off of little people and toys.
My husband and I stayed there with our 5 kids 12 and under. There were two pack and plays and a high chair. With each bedroom being on a different floor it did make the house feel very separate, which makes little kids feel farther away, but would be nice for privacy if going with other couples. The flooring and stairs are all rock tile and the stairs are very steep, so be prepared for that. We usually eat meals outside but at this rental that was much harder with the kitchen being on the middle floor and the steep stairs to carry food out. The master bedroom was large but had slanted ceilings in places that my 6’1’’ husband hit his head on a few times. The master toilet/shower area is TINY, with a slanted door access. It’s tight to get into like a tiny bathroom stall. If you’re a large person getting between that door and into the shower could prove difficult. Though the showers on the other two floors are open and regular size. Nice to have a two car garage, but it’s still for small vehicles, our SUV didn’t fit. We were able to find parking on the street most nights. There’s not very much comfortable seating in the family room compared to how many beds there are in the house for people. There’s one couch, an arm chair and a wood rocking chair. Would have preferred another arm chair over the hard rocking chair. The AC wasn’t working while we were there, we knew that ahead of time and it turned out ok because the weather was temperate in October and we could open the windows and doors. But it would have been way too hot in the summer. There were lots of bath towels, but could have used more than the two kitchen towels. Overall, it was a comfortable good stay!
