About this property

North Peninsula 3 BR beach retreat. Ideal for extended stays. Steps to ocean.

Welcome to Your Coastal Getaway, where adventure and relaxation are right at your fingertips!
This fun, fully-equipped three-bedroom, 2.5-bath beach house is ready to welcome you. We've stocked it with everything you need for a true seaside vacation.

Master Suite (upstairs): King bed, 50" Roku TV, antique touches, a desk, gorgeous glass and wood closet doors, and a private ensuite bathroom

Main floor: Cozy living room, fully-stocked kitchen, a bedroom with twin beds, and a full bathroom.

The breezeway oasis: While the main house features two full bedrooms and bathrooms, there is also a lovely third bedroom with a queen bed tucked privately across the breezeway. With its own peaceful, quiet feel, it’s a wonderful private retreat for couples or family members. This is where the powder room is.

Beach gear: chairs, umbrellas, towels, coolers, a beach wagon, boogie boards, a skim board, and two surfboards (including one beginner board).

Motorcycle-Friendly Garage: While there isn't room for cars due to our stored beach gear, washer/dryer and extra fridge, the 1-car garage has plenty of space to securely park 1 large or 2 small motorcycles overnight—perfect for your rally trips! (Note: Our compact driveway cannot accommodate large trucks or trailers).

Bikes and fishing gear for your outdoor adventures.

Smart TVs in multiple rooms (65" Samsung, 50" Roku, Roku tv in twin room, and a small Roku in the front queen room ) with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO and YouTube TV — or just log in to your own accounts.

Inside/Outside Breezeway Shower: One of our favorite features!

The Heart of the Home: We love to cook and have stocked the kitchen for foodies and casual cooks alike:

The kitchen is fully equipped with Le Creuset cookware, high-end non-stick pans for those bacon-and-egg mornings, a stock pot for pasta and soups, and grill accessories for steaks, filets, and smash burgers. You’ll also find a baking drawer and all the other essentials you might need. If there’s something missing for your culinary creations, just let me know—it’ll be on its way to you in no time!

The kitchen is stocked with a wide range of appliances to suit every need, including a drip coffee maker, French press, Keurig, slow cooker, stock pot, air fryer, hand-crank ice crusher, waffle maker, rice cooker, and a clam pot. For outdoor cooking, of course, an outdoor grill. A dedicated wine fridge is also available to keep your favorite bottles perfectly chilled.

An additional garage refrigerator to keep drinks and supplies stocked for beach days.

Outdoor Living: Relax on the private patio featuring:
A gas grill (with two propane tanks), marble side table, a custom cement table and benches with umbrella

And, our favorite, an inviting screen-enclosed breezeway where you can often hear the distant sound of ocean waves on quiet evenings.

Nestled on the serene North Peninsula, our beach home offers the perfect mix of peace, beauty, and convenience. Located just 300 yards from the A1A Scenic Highway and 200 yards from the Halifax River, you’ll be surrounded by the natural splendor of Florida’s Atlantic coast.

Our beaches are truly unique, featuring rare coquina sand, a stunning blend of crushed shells and coral that shimmers underfoot — perfect for quiet morning strolls, beachcombing, or simply soaking in the sunrise. Nearby, lush coastal vegetation, gentle sea breezes, and incredible sunrises over the ocean create a setting that feels like your own private paradise.

Tomoka State Park is close by, offering kayaking, fishing, birdwatching, and miles of scenic nature trails.

The world-famous A1A Scenic Highway is just steps away, offering breathtaking ocean views and an easy ocean view drive to charming Flagler Beach (10 minutes north) or lively Daytona Beach (25 minutes south). Historic St. Augustine is also only about 45 minutes away!

Charming Local Flavor: Though our location feels like a hidden gem, you’ll still be close to quaint restaurants, cafes, and markets that capture the true “Old Florida” spirit. The area has recently welcomed fantastic new dining spots alongside long-loved local favorites. Whether you're craving barbecue, fresh seafood, sandwiches, ethnic fare, or upscale cuisine — you’ll find it here. (Hint: the local seafood is unforgettable!)

Please Note:
No smoking or vaping of any kind is allowed.

No wild parties or loud music — this is a peaceful neighborhood.

Booking Info: Upon booking, you’ll receive a rental agreement and, if needed, a pet addendum. (If you’d like to review them in advance, just let us know.)

Come experience the quiet magic of the North Peninsula, where the ocean calls, the river sunsets sparkle nearby, and a welcoming, thoughtfully designed beach home awaits you.

We can't wait to host you. And don't forget the sunscreen!

Hello travelers! We found our property on Capri Drive in 2001 when it was only a sandy road. There are cousins that live all around us and that is how we learned about it. We spent most of our lives together in Springfield, PA where Charlie was a sporting goods store owner supplying the surrounding public and private schools, swim teams, club sports, etc with sports uniforms, equipment, shoes and everything in between. He made a dramatic career change in 2009 and went back to his alma mater Villanova University to become an English and Social Studies teacher. We moved to our cottage by the sea for a while where he taught high school in Flagler County but we were missing our 4 children and 17 grandchildren back in the Philadelphia area. So back we came where Charlie is now teaching in an urban school. We live in the West Powelton section of the city and love the urban life.
I was a Jazzercise instructor for 25 glorious years until I went to a full time job while Charlie was back in school as well as being a full time mom, grandmom and caregiver for my own mother.
I work part time also in the Philadelphia School District as an assistant in the younger grade classrooms and love it.
We always miss our cottage by the sea when we are not there but are thrilled to share it with others and delight in hearing about your own experiences there if you like to share.

Why they chose this property

We simply love Ormond by the Sea and, in fact, our little subdivision of 3 streets (Capri, Avalon and Via Madrid) is actually called Avalon by the Sea. It is peaceful and lovely there, a simple beach life not sullied by loud bars and boardwalk noises. Our home is positioned 300 yards from the ocean and 200 yards from the river and, in the quiet evenings, you can hear the ocean crashing onto the shore as you sit and relax in the breezeway.
We named our home Somewhere Beyond the Sea because my mother just loved Bobby Darin and that was one of his signature songs. I just love having family within walking distance of us and, when we vacation there, we spend a lot of time together.

What makes this property unique

Our area is not crowded. It is an "Old Florida" feel-laid back, lots of open area with many areas designated as state lands and therefore cannot be built upon. We have a thriving community of activists who assist during the annual sea turtle migrations. The house is approximately 1.5 hours from Disney World and other Orlando attractions. Daytona Beach and the famous Speedway is a 15-20 minute drive, St. Augustine and New Smyrna Beach are both about 40 minutes drive (in opposite directions!). You can walk to the Lagerhead Restaurant at the top of the road for nightly music, happy hour, lunch, dinner and weekend breakfasts. The new Tanger shopping mall is opened in Daytona Beach right off of I-95.
We designed our home to truly be a beach house. You will get that feeling as soon as you walk in. The house inspires relaxation and fun! We simply love the breezeway and spend a lot of time there eating, relaxing, reading, etc. There is even a shower in the breezeway perfect for rinsing off after coming in from the beach. We call it the "inside-outside shower" :-)
