Welcome to Between Beaches Alaska, our self-catering accommodations are well-appointed. At this exceptional location, you can watch the sunrise over one beach and set over the other! Our unique, handcrafted Beach Cabins and Beach House (VRBO listing numbers 993127, 661493, 449876, 1587179,1620934, and 2073319 ), are located on MacDonald Spit, a scenic water taxi ride from the Homer Harbor through beautiful Kachemak Bay State Park. The cabins are only steps away from the sandy beaches where otters play & eagles soar. The Pioneer Cabin is surrounded by spruce and alder trees, offers spectacular views of bays, islands, and snow-capped mountains without standing in their shade. Built by Alaskan pioneers, this historical Cabin faces Kasitsna Bay and glows in the morning sunrise. Included in your stay are Necky kayaks, rowboats, BBQ with gas, a hammock, clam rakes, and buckets. Inside this cozy cabin, you will find a fully equipped kitchenette, mini apartment size stove with oven, a cozy full-size bed with heated mattress, a day bed, full linens, and electric heat. Attached to the cabin, but a separate entrance is a private bathroom with a kelp forest shower. Here you can view the sunset through a vintage bronze porthole while you are taking a shower! There is WIFI from your beach chairs and inside the art gallery that is always open. There is excellent cell reception throughout the property. Choose from a variety of activities like kayaking, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, beachcombing, tide pooling, birding, bear viewing, glacier hikes, and more. SUP boards can be rented through True North Kayak in Homer Harbor prior to your departure. There is also offshore halibut fishing out of Seldovia. You are welcome to use the wood-fired hot tub and sauna, there is plenty of wood, an ax and chopping block are nearby for your use. Whether you come to relax or play, enjoy an evening beach fire as the sunsets. During your stay, you may visit our art gallery and enjoy art insulations throughout the property. Kristi, a life long Alaskan, was raised in a log cabin by her pioneer parents. By the age of 20, she had already coached skating and skiing, commercial fished, and was running her own boat and crew. Commercial fishing for salmon, halibut, crab, and herring have take her throughout Alaska's waters. A self-taught artist, working primarily in clay, she spends her free time sculpting in her Alaska studio.
