Located in quaint downtown Hillsboro, enjoy what this 1-bedroom basement apartment has to offer. This welcoming home features a king bed, a living room with a futon, a separate room that can be used for meditation, office, and/or exercise room. We provide whatever you may need to enjoy the above. This includes, weights, yoga mat, meditation set up, work desk, etc. WiFi, AC, a washer and dryer, a guest closet that provides most everything you need while away from home. You have a private entrance , and quiet secluded fenced in back yard. Guests will find this quaint apartment perfect for a private, quiet, comfortable stay. Enjoy all that Hillsboro has to offer when you visit our home, as it is walking distance from downtown restaurants, gift shops, antique shops, bakery and coffee shops , the Tuesday and Saturday markets, and more. Also, no real need to rent a car , we are one block from the light rail, with takes you to downtown Portland, and directly to the airport! We also own a small coffee shop, which is about 20 minutes away, Thus, our guest receive fresh roasted coffee with everything you could possibly need to brew the perfect cup of coffee each morning, and we share with you homemade pastries your first morning with us!

Denise is an excellent host. She is very kind and went above and beyond providing us with coffee and treats upon arrival. There is one error in the posting regarding an oven; however, Denise let us know there wasn’t an over before we booked and accommodated us beautifully. The suite is quiet and cozy and the wifi was excellent. Thank you Denise for making our stay in Hillsboro comfortable!

It was very close to where we needed to be. It was easy to find and a very quiet neighborhood. Host was always available if we needed anything. The place was so stocked with everything we never had go get anything we may have forgotten at home.

The Schmidt’s were such a pleasant family. They were easy going and most positive. Also, the apartment was left spotless, everything was cleaned and left in place , they really went above and beyond. They are more than welcome anytime they are in the area!

We are originally from Philadelphia, and have been in Oregon for over 20 years. My son and I own the home and we both keep very , very busy! My son owns and manages his coffee shops, and I am retired , However, I now have a small nonprofit. I provide cost free mental health counseling for those unemployed and/or struggling financially. And I have 3-4 cost free events for underserved children and families every year. I bake a couple of days a week, I travel when I can, and most of my free time is with friends and family , or resting !

Why they chose this property

I actually choose to live in this neighborhood because it was close to my job. However, I am now very pleased to have purchased my home here. It is a quiet, nice area, lots of older homes, and it had grown considerably since we moved here. Its walking distance to the downtown restaurants, gift shops, coffee shops, and two wonderful food cart pods with almost any kind of food you can think of. We are very close to many farms and wineries, So, the produce at our Saturday and Tuesday markets , is picked the same day. Plus, if you enjoy wine, the tours are beautiful, the wine is excellent, and the prices are pretty good too! The light rail was not here when we purchased the home, but since it’s been here, about 15 years. I utilize it quite a bit, and it takes you directly to the airport doorway, wow!
By the way, you have a separate entrance, and a designated parking space during your stay.

What makes this property unique

My son owns two coffee shops , “Deadstock Coffee ,” one is 20,minutes away in Beaverton Oregon, and the other is in downtown Chinatown. It is the only sports memorabilia coffee shop in Portland. Thus, our little rental was inspired by the coffee shops. In the apartment are photos and stories about what we do and I think it’s kind of fun and interesting. Oh, I bake pastries for the coffee shops . Though our guest are in a separate apartment from the upstairs, they have told us that they frequently smell pastries baking late at night, or sometimes in the wee hours of the morning! And of course we share with our guests! You will find pastries and coffee on your kitchen table when you enter !
