About this property
Pine Cone Cottage - Village of Pinehurst
Vacation Home in the Historic Village of Pinehurst.
The best of the North and South fuse beautifully within the Village of Pinehurst. Started as a winter resort for “snowbirds”, the Old Town maintains the New England charm that inspired it. The village center is an easy walk from Pine Cone Cottage and features boutiques, fine and casual dining and a variety of events and activities. While Pinehurst is consistently rated one of the top three golf destinations in the world, there are certainly ample diversions for the non-golfer. Among them is a wonderful walking trail system, a harness track, horticultural gardens, museums, boating and water activities, spas, and unique shops.
The home reflects the southern charm of the village, and is ideally situated to enjoy its many attractions: the quaint center is only a 7 minute walk, the Carolina Hotel with its restaurants, bars, and coffee shop is reached in 6 minutes, and the clubhouse and resort courses are 10 minutes away. The other 30 area courses are within easy reach by car.
Pine Cone Cottage is a totally up-to-date take on a holiday house, with all the conveniences you could hope for to ensure an enjoyable stay. As you enter this rambling ranch home, you encounter the Great Room, where the working stone fireplace soars to a 15-foot ceiling, and the open kitchen, a gourmet’s delight, features an enormous granite-topped island. An ample refrigerator/freezer, microwave, wine fridge, and plenty of serving dishes and kitchen implements will inspire you to create everything from cupcakes to a cassoulet. A large vintage oak table provides dining space with a pleasant view to the forest of pine trees at the back.
The spacious master bedroom, with its king bed, has its own fireplace and ensuite bathroom. The two sinks and double shower enclosure reflect the gracious style of the home. Another large bedroom with king bed anchors the bedroom wing, and opens to its own modern bathroom with shower. Both of the other two bedrooms have queen beds and views to the front lawn. One has its own ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. The other bedroom has a private porch and its bathroom is nearby. An adjacent bonus room serves as an office or simply a place to read or chill. Even though you might not look forward to a certain household chore while on vacation, you will find the new washer and dryer in the bright and cheery laundry room an indispensable convenience.
The outdoor space is “pure Pinehurst,” with a sweeping lawn in front and towering longleaf pines at the rear. A brick patio with comfortable teak furniture, table that seats eight and canopy umbrella, and gas grill lies just outside the living area and master bedroom, and is accessed through large glass doors. The upgraded heating and air conditioning systems, along with ceiling fans, ensure comfort inside regardless of the day’s weather.
Streets with names like Azalea, Dogwood, and Magnolia spiral outward from Pinehurst’s core, like a giant mainspring. Where the concentric arcs of Shaw and Ritter rejoin, there you will find Pine Cone Cottage.
Pine Cone Cottage has everything you need for a fabulous vacation. Just pack your suitcase and your golf clubs.
