Absolutely beautiful property, can't beat the view! Nice big pool, house is well stocked with all the essentials, lake is just a short walk down the hill and the kayaks were a big hit.

This is a perfect place for a getaway weekend. This was our second time staying at this house! Between the tennis court and the pool, there are plenty of outdoor activities to do. The house is also large enough to host a large group of friends.

Perfect vacation spot

Such a beautiful, unique and fun location. The experience was like none other to have views, pool, lake and all amenities out the front door. House was clean and neatly decorated. We had a fantastic time and will go again, made for awesome memories.

Peaceful and Fun

The home was comfortable and very clean. The pool was great, with a peaceful view. The owners were responsive and helpful. There were extra thoughtful touches that we really appreciated and made our stay special. We loved being outside, going for walks, playing tennis, eating outside, and seeing the wildlife.

Beautiful setting

Loved the Mountain views while relaxing at the pool. Very thoughtful owner provided just about everything we needed and a lot of extras you wouldn’t expect. The tennis court, pool and kayaks have us a lot to enjoy. Groceries close. The restaurants we found were average.

Family vacation with kids and grandkids

Setting was breathtaking. Large house with plenty of room for family including six grandchildren. House provided plenty of room to get everyone together as well as privacy for all. Always something to do which included the pool, tennis court, the pond for kyacking and fishing, hiking, the family room and dining room for eating and games. Downtown Staunton just a couple of miles away with great restaurants. Great vacation spot.

Fantastic Experience

Our large group of young children and adults had a fantastic stay here over a long weekend. Rain or shine there is plenty of space for everyone and the views from the pool and tennis courts are exceptional. The kids had a great time fishing on the lake and successfully caught and released a few small mouth bass and catfish one afternoon. We're looking forward to our return!

Bach Weekend

I was looking for a secluded house that had a pool to celebrate my bachelorette weekend with my friends and this house was perfect. One of my friends staying is a full time wheelchair user and Liz was super accommodating and allowed us to view the property to make sure everything would work for her. The house was clean and exactly like the listing. The view from the pool is amazing. Everyone had a great time. Would highly recommend for a relaxing get away weekend with friends.

Perfect Weekend for the family of the groom.

This was the perfect house for my family to stay in for my son's wedding. They came from as far as Oregon. Everyone was blown away. We had the family football game and volleyball game in the front yard. The cows even came by to watch. So relaxing and beautiful. It made the wedding weekend a huge success.

Relaxing country get away

This house was the perfect get away from the big city for a large group of friends or family with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate a large group with their own space. It is located in the breath taking Shenandoah Valley with gorgeous views out of each window. The house has been fully remodeled, but kept its old farm house charm with beautiful antique furniture, wood floors and original fixtures. It has all of the amenities you would need for a cozy enjoyable weekend on the property, but is close enough to Stanton to spend the afternoon shopping or the evening out for dinner. I will certainly stay here again and recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quiet get away from the city for a a large group.

Family reunion

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Gaie Lea. We hosted a family reunion and especially enjoyed the pool and lake. Our kids (14 adult cousins and spouses/partners) actually stayed in the home and enjoyed having the opportunity to spend time together since they live in different parts of the country. The parents and grandparents stayed in their local homes but spent much of the time on site partaking in the activities. Some had never fished before and were thrilled to catch fish. It was a fabulous time had by all. Thank you for allowing us this opportunity to reconnect as a family.

Magical weekend

Our weekend at Gaie Lea was truly a magical one. I live in Staunton so was able to tour the house and property before renting. It was beautiful seeing it on the tour, but the house really lights up when you're there with family. It is a cozy and comforting house with a perfect yard for playing games, an amazing pool, hidden sweet tennis court, and stunning old oak trees throughout the property. Our celebration of my partner and I getting married couldn't have been in a more special place or with more perfect weather. All in the family who stayed there felt the same way. I'll always be grateful and hold dear the magical memories created at Gaie Lea.

Loved Everything About This House

This was our yearly family vacation—6 adults and 5 teenagers. The house is huge with plenty of room for everyone. It is so clean and well-kept. The sheets and towels smelled great!!! The grounds are beautiful. Always something to do—swimming, tennis, ping pong, shopping. Everything is close by. We found a card table in the laundry area and used that to do a puzzle while we were there. We put it in the ping pong room and everyone had something to do at night. The kitchen had everything we needed. The homeowner's love for this house is evident from the moment you walk in. We had such a great stay.

Truly magical stay

My family from 4 households, ages 4-80, all gathered at Gaie Lea for a long weekend. It could not have been more perfect! Everybody had something wonderful to do - including the 4 year old, who found a trove of toys in one of the upstairs rooms! The house is gorgeous and well appointed - with space for all of us to be together or to have a bit of quiet time. We had wonderful meals at the large dining room table (with gorgeous view!); gathered on the patio outdoors to enjoy conversation and snacks; and everybody LOVED the pool with the most gorgeous view you could ever want AND the inviting gazebo if you wanted a bit of shade by the pool. It is absolutely the perfect environment to reconnect with loved ones - with privacy for one-on-one conversations, and space for meals together. The grounds were so beautiful - and beautifully maintained. We didn't have enough time to take advantage of all the lovely features of the property and nearby things to do. We hope to be back.

This home and the land is stunning. You feel as though you have been transported somewhere else! We all had such a wonderful time. Great pool and beautiful home. We only suggest maybe some thicker blinds for those who like to sleep in- but, the property is so great you will want to wake up and enjoy the day!

Another fabulous stay

We loved Gaie Lea so much last summer we came back this summer! We comfortably had 9 people total in the house and just adored every minute of our stay. The view at the pool is spectacular and you are truly five minutes drive from downtown Staunton. Couldn’t ask for a better getaway place.
