About this property

Mini Dome by Dodeca Domes

Experience the magic of dome living in the world’s first pentakis dodecahedron home. This unique tiny home was designed and constructed by the host with a heavy emphasis on building science, energy, and space efficiency. Located in a private backyard setting, the Mini Dome features a hot tub, fiber internet, a spiral staircase, and a thoughtfully designed modern interior. The property is less than 10 minutes to Downtown Portland and 30 minutes to the Columbia River Gorge.

The space:

Step inside to find a cozy interior that maximizes the 308 square foot floor plan in a way that is only possible with this unique shape. Enjoy 16’ ceilings, plenty of natural light, and privacy thanks to the large frosted windows. The open layout includes a comfortable, full-height sleeping loft with a queen bed and skylight, accessible from the spiral staircase.

Downstairs you’ll find a compact kitchenette equipped with coffee and tea-making supplies. There’s a relaxing lounge space with 43” 4K TV, digital movie library, a pull-out couch, fiber internet, and board games. The dome also features an air filtration system plus a heating and air conditioning system to keep you comfortable in all seasons.

The location:

Located in a private backyard setting, you’ll have exclusive access to an owner-maintained hot tub with a lounge seat and jets. The Max (light rail) is directly out front and can have you downtown in 15 minutes. On-street parking is free and easy to find. A brewery, food cart pod, and New Seasons grocery store are across the street. A coffee shop is on the corner. Mexican, Thai, and Sushi restaurants are all within walking distance.

Guest access:

You’ll enter the side gate of the main house on the property and use a unique code for the keypad, allowing you to come and go. You’ll have exclusive access to the backyard, the mini dome itself, and the hot tub.

Other things to note:

- Windows do not open. The dome is mechanically ventilated and filtered for the best possible air quality.
- Windows do not have shades. If you need total darkness to sleep, eye masks are provided.

We thoroughly enjoyed our staycation at the Mini Dome! It is immaculately clean and well-appointed. The location is unbeatable - a perfect place to hop off to anywhere in the city. Check-in and check-out were very easy, and the host communicative. We were very grateful to stay in such a cool and unique place. Highly recommend!
