About this property

Serene Waterfront Cabin

At the end of a private lane and just a few steps from waters edge of the serene Papoose Pond, this cabin is a true bit of paradise! The cabin itself is both quintessential camp vibes while also being well kept and stocked with all amenities so you can comfortably enjoy your stay. We have running potable from a quality filtration system, high-speed internet, window AC units for the summer and heating and propane fire place during the winter, and most cell services get strong reception here. The mattresses were also recently replaced, along with new quality linens and towels.

Just a short walk through the front yard and down a sloped path, you have your own private beach, along with beach chairs, 2 kayaks and a canoe to use during your stay. Papoose Pond does not allow motor boats and is only private access so it has an especially tranquil and relaxing environment - a wonderful place to swim, paddle, fish, and just simply sit back and relax. The wildlife is vibrant in this neck of the woods, with many birds, including nearby nesting eagles, and the occasional moose spotting. After a day on the water, grill up some dinner and light up the fire pit for some s'mores and star gazing!

Waterford is also a wonderful launching pad nestled in the lakes region, with towns of Norway, Bridgton, Bethel and others within 20 minutes, featuring excellent food & drink (so many tasty Maine Microbreweries!), bustling farmers markets, museums, fun shops and more. This area is also brimming with outdoor opportunities, whether it be hiking, fly fishing, or mountain biking, to name just a few. We are the new owners of this property but prior owners rented with 5 star reviews and many guests returning for the fifth or more year! Need more space? We also own the large home next door that can sleep 13.

Come stay and experience the magic!

We stayed here for a family visit at Papoose Pond Campground. It was a great alternative to actual camping! The beds are very comfortable and the host was gracious enough to provide us with a brand new pack and play and baby gate! Check in and out was super easy and the host was easy to communicate with. The one inconvenience I ran into was the potentially unhealthy high copper content in the tap water. I was unable to wash my hair for the entire stay due to the fact that the water would turn my highlighted hair green. The host did however provide adequate bottled water for drinking and cooking, which I suppose is the best that can be done without doing major renovations. Just keep that in mind if you have color treated hair. Overall we had a great stay! Thank you for having us!

I am originally from Washington State and was lucky enough to relocate to New England and now call Maine Home. My husband and I own this property as our second home and enjoy sharing the magic with renters.
