The Hobby House (Mount Pleasant Tavern) was built in 1806 as an inn and tavern for weary travelers on the journey inland from Charleston in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The guest cottage is one of the original structures, this one-of-a-kind lodging is conveniently located 8 min from Woodruff, SC, 15 min from Spartanburg, SC and 40 min from downtown Greenville. Both the main house and the cottage are original to the property, which was built in 1806. Well, the property was updated to include modern features. It was done with the intention of preserving much of the historical aspects of the structure, making it incredibly unique.
