Perfect cottage get-away

The cottage was exactly what you want a cottage to be, quaint, quiet, rustic, and private. It's right on the water and secluded from other cottages on the property. Short walk from the main beach area where we were able to play volleyball/frisbee, use the canoes/paddle boards. Beautiful property and area, owners were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back again

This is a cabin

If you are looking for a cottage, do not stay here, this is a cabin. The swimming is awful. You cannot walk into the water because of the sludgy bottom. You cannot dive in off the dock because the water is too shallow. Don't plan to swim here.

Perfect location, perfect amenities

It was a wonderful 3 days at the cabin with family. View is magnificent, with the fall at peak during our stay. The space was clean and kitchen fully equipped to handle our requirement of some home cooking on the Thanksgiving weekend. The host family was always within reach and very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to visit again.

Amazing Property

West Bay cottage #3 is rustic with a fantastic view on Baptiste Lake. It is such a beautiful property with mature large trees on either side for privacy. The 3 bedroom cabin was the perfect size for our family of 6 and 2 dogs. The main beach and lodge is about a minute walk through a wooded trail. There are kayaks, canoes and paddle boards for guests to use. Large dock, plenty of Muskoka chairs and beach volleyball net on this beach. The lake is very quiet. We spent our days either playing on the lake or just relaxing on our own private dock. Also enjoyed the private hiking trail on the property. So many options! Everything on one property. Our host, Richard, was very friendly and accommodating. Super quick to respond to all our needs. Already planning to come back next summer!

Nice and relaxing

This cottage is private and provides a beautiful view on the Dock as well as off the cottage balcony. We found the space very small for 6ppl to use. There's only 5 chairs for dining, one soft that barely seats 3 people, and only 4 lawn chairs. Good thing I had brought my own spread that we used outside to sit on. We couldn't eat inside, and had to use the dirty picnic table that I covered with a plastic table cloth. There was a lot of dog hairs in the couch and on the floor as well. The holes in the cabin allowed pests like mice, wolf-spidees and bugs in. At night there's a critter that lives under the cabin and kept us up all night. Other than that the kids had a great time with the paddle boats and caught lots of fish. It's a good place to get away with some buddies but not with your family.

VERY PRIVATE, NICE RUSTIC CABIN RIGHT ON THE LAKE!

I booked this cabin for 5 days. The cabin is nice and rustic with many nice features including good BBQ, large fridge, stove, ect. The cabin is rustic and could use some further housekeeping and possible new mattresses. But for the price you cannot beat this location. The cabin is directly on the water and very private like having your own lake! The views are beautiful. The cabins around 20 minutes from Bancroft, a larger town if anything is needed. If you are not worried about having everything brand new and like a nice old northern cabin feel there is not a better deal than this directly on the water! Also great fishing, canoeing, boating. The privacy is very nice and hard to find. Thanks again! Charles

Awesome family fun for everyone!

West bay is the best kept secret in North-Eastern Ontario! If you are looking for a quick and easy get away without the hassle of packing your whole kitchen, I would highly recommend this resort. The accommodations are lovely and rustic. You are provided with everything you need as far as utensils and kitchen supplies, but the owners still let it be known numerous times that if we needed anything at all to let them know. They were beyond accommodating, and a real pleasure to deal with. This was our first time coming to West bay, and I have already booked for two more weekends this season. The cabin was adorable, and just what we needed. The cabins are dated, but definitely part of their charm. If you are looking for brand new state of the art cottage then you should check out the Hilton Hotels... However if interested in spending copious amounts of time outdoors enjoying a beautiful quiet lake, Spotless beach with safe water access, awesome hiking trails, and star filled nights.. I couldn't recommend any better place. 10 STARS! Jessica W. Etobicoke, Toronto, ON 3/2/2018

Just what doctor order

Being late Sept we had pretty much the place to ourselves. Peace and quiet. From boat rental and exploring the lake to trying kayaks. Every bit of our stay was what were looking for

Little piece of heaven!

A group of friends and I had a wonderful weekend! The cabin is cozy and secluded with large fridge, private dock, firepit, everything you need. The common area was an added bonus with access to canoes and beach volleyball made for the perfect weekend. Will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful Views

My neighbors and I rented this cottage for a week, and we were pleasantly surprised. The cottage itself was a little bit small and out dated however we were there to enjoy the outdoors. The cottage was right on the water with a nice dock and it was very private with an amazing view. Richard was a fantastic host and responded right away with any questions that we had or to bring us anything that we needed within minutes. 😊 We also had a lot of luck fishing and my seven-year-old caught lots of sunfish and little perch right off of the dock.

Rustic Retreat

If you are looking for some rustic charm in a quiet bay, this cabin would suit. Lovely deck overlooking the lake. New dock. Shallow entry. If you are a minimalist, this cabin is for you. We enjoyed kayaking and exploring. Bancroft only 20 min away. The host is friendly and accommodating. Planning to return.
