This 2 acre waterfront property is a hidden gem. Simmons Point is a gorgeous spot where the river meets the bay. Beach lovers of all ages will be satisfied with the warm and shallow bay right at your back door. The charming Cape Code style cottage was built in the 1950's and has been recently updated but still retains much of its original beach house flavor. The second floor contains a master bedroom with a queen size bed and another bedroom with two twin size beds and a bathroom with a shower. The ground floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and another with a single twin bed. There is a half bath on the first floor. The open kitchen has a custom made island from a 200 year old walnut tree. The livingroom has a fireplace and a queen size sofa bed for additional sleeping accommodations. The enclosed porch has a dining table for 6 if you prefer to eat inside. The outdoor shower is divine after a nice swim.

We absolutely loved everything about this home from the rabbits all around day and night to the kayaks we could use right there to being steps to the bay to the lovely and accommodating owners. Highly recommended!
My family and I had the most amazing time in Cindy's home. The beach is practically steps from the back deck and the home extremely comfortable. We loved watching all of the wildlife and collecting shells on our walks along the beach. Cindy is a wonderful host and we hope to return in the future!
Not only did we enjoy all the benefits of the beach but the 2 acre property was full of rabbits, birds, tortoises, ground hog, wild turkeys, etc. it was delightful. It was a very special month.
We had a truly magical month at Cindy's house on the North Fork. After 4 months of quarantining with 2 kids in our Brooklyn apartment, our stay at Cindy's house was just what we needed. The house is exactly as pictured and with any and all amenities that you'd need for a comfortable stay. But it's the location and property that really make this listing special. With water views from the house, a large plot of land, and a private bay beach it was the ultimate summer retreat. Our children (ages 6 & 7) loved exploring the beach and discovering everything from horseshoe crabs, turtles and clams, to jellyfish, seashells and crabs. And the bay water is calm and warm, which meant us parents could actually enjoy ourselves without being stressed about the kids and waves! The location is absolutely perfect - very central to everything the North Fork has to offer (wineries, farm stands, seafood markets, etc). Cindy was a fabulous host, very responsive and easy going and leaving us with a perfectly clean and welcoming home. We are in love with the North Fork now (our first time visiting and so much better than the Hamptons) and are already plotting when we can go back! Thank you Cindy!
Our family could not have appreciated the house and beach more especially after a very difficult winter. The land and sea connected to this house make it incredibly special. The bungalow has everything you need and Cindy is an exceptional host. Very responsive. The north fork area is now our dream destination to live for good and our experience at cindys house confirmed it.
Thank you for such a fabulous month! Your house is beautiful and the view breathtaking! It was indeed a last minute decision and the best I made! This property and location is 5 star!!! I would do it again!
We stayed here during the month of May and I can't say enough wonderful things. The home has everything you need and it has such an amazing charm about it as you overlook the Bay. The views are breathtaking and incredibly peaceful, to be surrounded by lush greens and the Bayfront listening to the sounds of nature was one of my favorite parts about our stay. I think the combination of the home and the scenery really is what makes it so peaceful, which in such a stressful time was much needed.
Cindy is an amazing host, very responsive and very accommodating.
We have rented other homes out on Long Island, in the Hamtpons specifically and I have to say after staying here, we are now so involve with the North Fork, I wouldn't consider renting anywhere else. The beach outside this home is by far one of the most lovely beaches I have seen, very soft sand, we loved watching the seagulls. Since this is a private beach for the owners who live on the Bayfront, you really have the beach to yourself.
I am looking forward to renting again, thank you so much!

Why they chose this property
After looking for many years for a beach front property on the North Fork we fell in love with and purchased this gorgeous spot in 2011. The property had a lot more brush and woods when we purchased it but today it stands well groomed at the hands of it's architect owner who has been a bit obsessed with manicuring the property - not too manicured - just enough to preserve the perfect balance. The peace that surrounds the cottage is unmatched in it's natural and secluded setting. It is truly unique. The beach is a piece of Heaven with endless bird watching and ever changing sea life. Orange tortoises are often spotted roaming the property. October brings a stream of monarch butterflies heading home. Ready, Set, RELAX!
What makes this property unique
The setting is wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. If you want to find some action in town there's plenty to do. Antique stores abound. U-Picks everywhere. There's no shortage of wining in dining on the North Fork. There's a train from NYC and it's a world away.
