About this property
Missouri Heights Mountain Home
Welcome to a relaxing and peaceful home on 12 acres on a high plateau, with sweeping views of the Roaring Fork Valley and Elk Mountain Range. You’ll never want to leave with a hot tub, cold plunge, and sauna. 10 minutes to Whole Foods, and 35 minutes to Aspen’s resorts. Whether you’re sipping espresso, soaking in the hot tub under starry skies, or watching the donkeys and horses onsite, this is more than a vacation - it’s a full retreat. Come experience the magic of Missouri Heights!
The space
The ground-level master suite includes a custom walk-in closet and spa-like bath and walk in shower. The kids bunkroom features two twin-over-full-over-twin trundle beds—perfect for families or groups. Each bedroom has its own en-suite, mountain views and soft Brooklinen sheets. The great room boasts incredible floor to ceiling windows, while the closed off den offers guests another space to watch TV and break away from a larger group.
The house includes an outdoor hot tub, cold plunge and outdoor shower, and relaxing indoor sauna. If you’re working remotely, the home includes two dedicated offices with adjustable desks and monitors.
The fully stocked high-end kitchen includes access to a Breville espresso machine, two dishwashers and le Creuset cookware. After dinner, cozy up by one of the two woodstoves, or enjoy music throughout the great room and kitchen with Sonos speakers. The mudroom is equipped with a washer/dryer, dog shower and plenty of cubbies and hooks for all your gear.
This all-electric net zero home is solar powered with Tesla Powerwall backup, an EV charger onsite, and boasts radiant floor heat, wood fireplaces and mini splits for year-round comfort.
Donkeys, horses and a yak live onsite and are cared for by the owners who live next door (please see rules below to ensure you are respectful and enjoy them from a distance).
Though it feels like a world away, you're only: 10 minutes to Whole Foods, 35 minutes to Aspen’s resorts, and surrounded by miles of hiking, biking, and fresh mountain air.
~House Rules ~
We’re excited to host you at our mountain retreat! To help ensure a peaceful and safe experience for everyone (including our furry residents), please review the following house rules before your stay:
Animals + Property Etiquette
• Do not feed or touch the animals (donkeys, yak, and horses). The owners live next door and personally care for them daily—you’re welcome to watch and enjoy them from a distance.
• Please do not climb on fences or enter the barn or pasture areas at any time.
• Doors and downstairs windows need to remain locked at night to ensure bears cannot enter the home.
• Treat the land and animals with respect—we’re sharing a truly special spot.
No Smoking, Parties, or Events
• No parties or events allowed. This is a peaceful mountain retreat within a neighborhood meant for relaxation and quiet enjoyment, and sound carries.
Pets
• Extremely well-behaved, and clean house-trained dogs may be allowed with prior approval and an additional fee. Dogs if allowed, need to be on leash at all times to prevent them from chasing wildlife or interacting with our animals (especially the yak) as well as our neighbor’s horse who is not dog-friendly. Dogs are not allowed on the couches or beds. In your request, please tell us about your dogs to get permission.
• No cats permitted due to severe owner allergies—thank you for understanding.
Parking + Garage
• Guests may use the 2-car garage, which includes an EV charger.
• Garage doors are narrow, so we recommend only pulling in smaller vehicles (no SUVs).
We want your stay to be magical, comfortable, and safe. If you have any questions during your stay, the owners are nearby and happy to help when needed.
Thanks for respecting the space—we can’t wait to welcome you!
