The house was so nice as was the town. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to get away. The home owners were very nice as well and responded quickly

About the host
Hosted by Leona Norman
After spending most of our lives in the Western U.S., a single summer visit in Ashtabula was all it took to convince us to plant roots here.
We were drawn to the area’s incredible hospitality and scenic beauty, and we’ve curated this retreat to reflect everything we love about our adopted home.
We pride ourselves on offering a stress-free experience—including all-inclusive pricing with no hidden fees—so you can focus on falling in love with Ashtabula just like we did.
Why they chose this property
Here is why we chose this specific area and why we know you’ll love it too:
The Historic Harbor & Bridge Street: We fell in love with Bridge Street, the "beating heart" of the harbor. It’s one of America’s most celebrated main streets, where you can watch the iconic Bascule Lift Bridge in action as boats transition from the river to Lake Erie.
A Foodie’s Paradise: The dining scene here is incredible. Check out Briquettes Smokehouse for BBQ on their river-view patio or enjoying the local flavors at Bascule Bridge Grille. For a quick local treat, Marianne’s Chocolates and the wood-fired pizzas at Nights & Weekends are sure to be a hit with the family as well!
Endless Water Adventure: Being so close to the water was a major draw. You can rent a kayak from Harbor Yak to explore the serene Ashtabula River or book one of the world-class walleye and perch fishing charters that depart daily during the summer.
Natural Beauty & Beaches: Walnut Beach Park is our favorite retreat, offering a swimming beach and a stunning view of the Ashtabula Lighthouse. It’s the perfect spot for a sunset stroll or beachcombing for Lake Erie beach glass.
Rich History: We were moved by the area's deep roots, from its role in the Underground Railroad at the Hubbard House to the maritime stories preserved at the Ashtabula Maritime & Surface Transportation Museum.
Festivals & Community: There is always something happening, from the Wine & Walleye Festival in July, to the Blessing of the Fleet in June. The Beach Glass (June) and Harvest Festivals (September) are loads of fund as well! It’s a community that truly comes to life in every season.
We chose this neighborhood because it offers a "soothing haven" with a slow pace of life, yet it’s filled with energy and adventure. We hope you feel that same magic during your stay!
What makes this property unique
What truly makes this home stand out is that it’s not just a rental; it’s a reflection of why we chose to settle in Ashtabula ourselves. We’ve designed this space to be the "soothing haven" we looked for when we first visited from out West.
You get the best of both worlds—a quiet, residential retreat that is just a few short blocks from the shoreline. Whether you’re heading to Walnut Beach for a sunrise stroll or catching the sunset over Lake Erie, the lake’s cooling breeze and scenic beauty are always within reach.
We take immense pride in the upkeep of our home. We personally ensure that every room is sparkling clean and sanitized before your arrival. From the crisp linens on the King bed to the gleaming, fully stocked kitchen, we maintain a standard of cleanliness that allows you to relax the moment you walk through the door.
Having once been newcomers ourselves, we see the area through a traveler’s eyes and know exactly what makes a stay here unforgettable. We’re more than just your hosts—we’re your local guides. Whether you need a recommendation for the best walleye dinner or help finding a the kayak launch, we are just a message away and truly love sharing the gems of our adopted hometown.
Transparent, Worry-Free Pricing: In a world of surprise "service fees," we keep it simple. Our pricing is all-inclusive with no hidden fees, ensuring your booking experience is as comfortable and stress-free as your stay.
