every little detail was amazing and we loved our stay here! it’s right on Ali’i drive so you can walk to any of the restaurants or shops down that road, and it’s perfectly in the middle of everything else you’d want to do in the island:)
Excellent location for a weekend stay. If you’re looking for updated, this is not the place for you. However it’s in very close walking distance to shops & restaurants.
I wanted a small space within walking distance from all that Kona has to offer, and that is exactly what I got. Stephanie was quick to respond with messages.
Pros-Checkin process was easy-Condo was clean-Great location-Great price-Patio was nice-Bed was great-Grounds & pool were nice-Checkout instructions were a breeze (I hate it when some places basically ask you to wash and wax the floors before you leave)Cons-Could use a fresh coat of paint-Shower and cabinets were a little outdated-Bathroom door doesn’t work very well-No sink or countertop in the bathroomAlso, I didn’t mind, but I felt like I was in someone else’s house (books on the bookshelf, cartoons on the refrigerator, food in the kitchen).
Room was clean, all that I needed was in the room. Close to shopping and restaurants. I have stayed at Kona Islander many times and have learned that if I want to park on the premises to get there before 5p.m. and not drive anywhere at night -- not a problem because there are many restaurants and shopping walking distance.I live on Maui and come to Hawaii Island frequently and usually my first choice is the Kona Islander because of convenience and value.
