Welcome to The Beach Blue Sea Cottage, a distinctive vintage beach home where history, privacy, and modern comforts come together just one block from the ocean. This is a private, entire single-family home—not a condo, apartment, upstairs/downstairs unit, or shared property—with its own peaceful outdoor spaces, parking, lush landscaping, bocce ball court, and mini putting green. No remote garage parking, no loud neighbors, no early-morning maids.

The charming cottage is tucked among magnolia and palm trees, just off N. Ocean Boulevard near the cabana section at the end of Myrtle Beach's Golden Mile, where the beachfront homes give way to the larger hotel area. The ocean is approximately a two-minute walk away, so there is no need to spend your vacation searching for paid parking or driving to the shore.

And this is a rare find: the cottage is one of only a small number of grandfathered single-family homes within the Myrtle Beach city limits that are permitted to operate as short-term rentals. You get the space and privacy of a real beach house while being wonderfully close to the ocean, golf, shopping, dining, and attractions.

A Little Piece of Myrtle Beach History

This lovingly renovated cottage was among Myrtle Beach's early beach rentals and has been restored for modern living while retaining its vintage personality. Over the years, guests even left handwritten recipes behind for future visitors. Feel free to add one of your own!

There is just enough quirkiness to make you smile—a little like the beach-house version of the summer camp cabin you always wished you had, but with the conveniences you expect today. Coastal quilts, artwork and décor give the cottage a relaxed character that feels more personal than a typical vacation rental. Think New England fishing village meets Key West, with a generous helping of captivating Southern charm.

Your Own Private Beach House

The approximately 1,500-square-foot cottage offers three bedrooms plus a den with a fold-out futon, two full bathrooms, an open-concept living/dining/kitchen area, and outdoor gathering spaces.

The home has two levels connected by a very gradual incline and is surrounded by mature landscaping, including palms, magnolias, roses, and cacti. There are no shared walls and no extremely close neighbors, making this a particularly peaceful setting for relaxing, reconnecting, reading, working, watching movies, playing games, or simply listening to the birds.

Enjoy your morning coffee at the front-deck bistro table, relax in the shady back patio area, or head down to the beach for a sunrise or sunset. The neighborhood is lovely for walking, jogging and bicycling, and small parks are within a block, including a beachside children's pirate ship playground, exercise areas, and places to walk the dog. It's the best part of town!

On the property, guests can enjoy bocce ball and a mini putting green. Beach equipment—including a beach umbrella, beach chairs, beach towels, body boards, and a utility wagon—is provided for your use.

Sleeping Arrangements

The adorable cottage is best suited for 2–6 adults, with a maximum of 8 guests including children, depending on sleeping arrangements.

Two roll-away twin beds and two low twin trundle beds are available from the downstairs bedroom closet. These can provide additional sleeping options, although using all of them at once would make the room quite tight.
Ceiling fans are provided in the bedrooms, along with air conditioning and heat throughout the home.

Beach, Golf, Shopping & Things to Do

The ocean is close enough to walk to—one block away! Golf, shopping, restaurants and Myrtle Beach attractions are an easy drive of about 10 minutes.

Nearby activities include golf courses and driving ranges, outlet shopping, Aquarium, SkyWheel, gardens, music dinner theaters, zip lines, parasailing, ropes courses, climbing walls and trampolines. The cottage is also around the corner from Pine Lakes International Country Club, Myrtle Beach's first golf course.

For a change of scenery, historic Charleston makes a wonderful day trip.

Of course, you may decide that your favorite activity is simply walking the beach, collecting sea shells, reading on the patio, playing bocce, putting on the mini green, grilling dinner, enjoying a movie, or watching the neighborhood go by.

Families, Fur-Babies & Longer Stays Welcome

The cottage welcomes well-behaved families or friends and up to two calm dogs, with children and pets fully supervised. Dogs may not be left alone in the cottage unless comfortably crated. All residents, both two-legged and four-legged, must be included in the rental agreement.

The cottage is also a favorite type of getaway for couples, families, grandparents, golfers, shoppers, ladies' getaways, anniversary and birthday trips, telecommuters, writers, artists, musicians, graduates, retirees and snowbirds.

Short- and long-term stays are available, including month-long winter rentals. Spring and fall can be especially lovely at the beach.

A Few Important House Rules

The Beach Blue Sea Cottage is a vintage home to be enjoyed and treated with care. It is not suitable for parties, events or large groups.

Please note:

Principal renter must be 24 or older.
Principal renter must remain on the premises during the rental.
No parties, special events or large groups.
No smoking.
No fireworks.
No motorcycles, RVs, trailers or boats.
Children and pets must be monitored.
Please do not place wet or sandy bathing suits on upholstered furniture.
