The Mendon house was very clean, well appointed, and well taken care of including the grounds. It includes all the amenities you would need to ensure a memorable stay.
My friends and I needed a place to stay for the weekend while we were participating in an endurance event. This was a perfect fit- lots of bedrooms (most with a full bath), plenty of seating for meals and lounging, and a large sauna and hot tub for post race recovery.

Thank you Ethan for staying with us! I'm glad you and your family enjoyed your time in our home. Hope to have you visit again soon.
I loved the size and layout of this house. So many rooms and beds with lots of open communal space so we could all sleep comfortably but also all hang out in one room when we wanted to. The drive to Killington to ski everyday was so quick and easy and lots of food options around in both directions!
A bunch of friends and I wanted to do a long weekend of mountain activities and this place fit our needs perfectly. Irina was helpful with the check-in check-out process and followed up with a text in addition to the email. Would certainly go back!

Big and cozy
16 of us stayed in this wonderful house very close to Pico and Killington mountains for a ski trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the location, the views, and all that the house had to offer. The kitchen was fully stocked and the hot tub was fun. The boot rack was advantageous for us after a full day on the slopes. The house is a great value for a big group.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The house was absolutely filthy! Every kitchen tile was broken (don't walk barefoot), there was rust and mold all over the exterior. Few of the windows opened. Bugs on the carpet. Outdated bathrooms (the powder room smelled of urine and we cleaned it). The kitchen was a mess of odd things blended together and very difficult to cook in. The dining table was broken / screwed together and very odd. No propane tank in the outdoor fire pit. Difficult to access the front deck that actually didn't have furniture on it which is where the views are.

Hi Amy, I'm sorry that the house didn't meet your expectations. We know about the kitchen tiles and have plans to renovate before end of the year. As for cleanliness, I agree that it's unacceptable and will be addressing all issues with the team.
My friends and I enjoyed the house immensely. My husband loved the sauna, while my friends enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to prepare meals for 16 people. Lots of space for a large group. Small issue with the deck furniture but was resolved immediately. Very impressed with Irina and her responsiveness to queries. Recommend very highly.

Thank you Vanessa for your feedback. We would welcome you back any time!
While the property was large (needed for our family) and booking/check-in was simple, you must avoid this property and owner. The property has severe mold in a bathroom, was not clean, and the owner did nothing to rectify our concerns. We notified her immediately upon arrival and she only said that she would deal with the mold upon our checkout; not offering to allay our concerns of staying there by getting us a new place. You could also tell someone tried painting over it previously (though the owner said she knew nothing about it). We also told the owner about two unlockable sliding doors and the uncleanliness of the house (un-swept, dirt/food under furniture and beds), though she did not respond to these concerns. So we were forced to stay in an unhealthy, unclean, unsecured house for a week. Ants were also discovered in the kitchen soon after we arrived. This was an unpleasant stay with an uncaring owner which I hope no one else has to endure.

Jessica, as mentioned in our private correspondence, we regret that you were not satisfied with your stay at our house. We pride ourselves with having our guests enjoy their stay and have all our reviews reflect this. Let me publicly address all the points you noted:
1. Mold in the bathroom - There had been severe rainfall in the area all throughout July which caused this issue. Unfortunately, we did not know that the rain caused this damage until you mentioned it. The 4 guests that stayed before you, did not mention any damage at all. Given the damage of the ceiling was sizable and required a replacement of a large section in the ceiling, we were not able to address it during your stay without severely impacting your group. It took our management company about a week to fix the ceiling. This would have caused a big disruption to you.
2. Sliding doors not locking - All sliding doors have a stopper at the bottom to prevent opening. I'm not sure why those were not satisfactory for your group. Additionally, we are located in a safe and remote area with zero outside foot traffic. Again, im not sure why you didnt feel safe in our home.
3. Cleanliness of the house - We did have guest check out the morning of your arrival. Our cleaning crew were at the house from 11:30 - 5pm and sent us a video walk through of the house prior to your arrival. Everything looked in order from the video footage. That said, its possible that they missed some things, ie in between cushions or in the nooks and cranies. All these issues with cleanliness could have been addressed that same day had you mentioned anything about it. Unfortunaly, we did not hear anything about your dissatisfaction until *after* your 5 day stay was completed.
4. Ants - We have a service contract with an exterminator that comes on a regular monthly basis. I have proof of Orkin treating the property for ants on July 21st, nine days before your arrival. The property is in Vermont in a wooded area. Ants do have a way of returning between exterminator visits.
Throughout your stay, you only reached out to me two times. Once to tell me about the mold and issues with the door, and once to ask a question about the trash. You did not indicate in any way how unhappy you were, nor to mention anything about the ants or cleansiness issues. In the future, i would recommend that you make your concerns clear so that the host can address them in a timely manner.
Given you were not fully satisfied with your stay and as a gesture of goodwill, we offered to send you a $500 refund for your trouble. However, we believe that your request for refunding the full payment for your entire five night *completed* stay (including vrbo service fees) is not a reasonable request and so we will not be able to provide that refund.
Once again, I'm sorry that the stay did not meet your expectations and I wish you well in the future.
Property was great. Had all the necessary items for our stay to be pleasant. The house was well maintained and cleaned. Actually was a lot better in person than what the pictures would make you believe. We are hoping to reserve it next year as well.
The location came as advertised! We loved the visit and look forward to stopping by again in the future. Lovely home with plenty of space to accommodate a large group.
House needs updated, painted and cleaning, but has beautiful view.
The 8 bedrooms and multiple bathroom home in the mountains was the selling point. The house itself has not been updated or maintained for some time. The carpet had visible stains and was very worn. Paint scuffs on the walls. Ceilings in two bed rooms has water marks on the ceiling. The clean towels had dirt on them and coffee pot had mold in it from the coffee grounds not being emptied.
The downstairs basement was very damp and with smelled of mildew even after we asked the office to help us find the underpowered dehumidifier. The kitchen was missing simple things like measuring cups and spoons. The outside siding in the deck area was covered in dark looking liquid marks. The hand railings on the steps had come loose.
Overall the size of the house was great for the number of people and we had a good time with a beautiful view but for a VRBO and it’s price point per day this is below the standard and needs maintenance.
This home is a great spot for both summer and winter stays! The views are fabulous, and there is much to do in the neighboring towns. There were some maintenance issues, but nothing that directly affected my stay. The home owner, Irina is extremely prompt in responding to both email and text messages. I would
We wanted a short summer "Covid" escape away from the big city. This house was where we based ourselves whilst exploring this beautiful part of Vermont.
There were enough rooms with ensuite bathrooms to accommodate our large group. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we need and the main living room was spacious and clean. We appreciate it very much that the common areas had plenty of space for everyone in our varying age groups to enjoy. The view of the mountains from the deck is awesome - we wish we could also be here in the fall!
Irina - the owner of the house - was very quick to respond to our messages. We highly recommend her property!

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so happy to host your "covid" escape. Thank you for taking a good care of our house and we will be happy to have you return in the fall!
This house is well kept and very clean. We stayed there with three other families and had plenty of room and privacy! The fact that it has 6.5 bathrooms is a plus! The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, or just make a cheeseboard and hang out on that gorgeous deck!! The View! Is beautiful and classic Vermont. I’d highly recommend this home!! Great owner , excellent communication ! We’d definitely stay again. A++

Big, Beautiful, and Clean
Irina is such a pleasure to deal with. She responds quickly and is always polite. The house is perfect for a large group, there are a lot of private bedrooms so couples can have privacy. There are so many bathrooms all over the house that no one in our large group had to wait. The kitchen is well stocked with pans and baking sheets and pots. The refrigerator is huge so you can put all the food you need in there. The living room has couches that are comfortable to lounge on. The house is carpet and it’s clean. Usually if the carpet is not cleaned well I sneeze and have a hard time breathing but not in this house. The house has heat and it works! The house has splendid views of the mountain and forest around it. The conclusion is the house is awesome and if you are looking to rent in the area you should defiantly rent this house. We will defiantly rent again if we go to Killington.

We are a large extended family from NY/NJ and have been planning annual ski trips for over 30 years.
Why they chose this property
We, as a family fell in love with Killington Grandview House because it was spacious enough to fit us all, and yet cozy so that we can all hang together.
What makes this property unique
What makes this home unique is the combination of true space, sweeping mountain views, and thoughtful group friendly design. With seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, multiple gathering areas across three levels, a private sauna, hot tub, game room, and expansive outdoor space, the house is built for large families and groups to be together without feeling on top of each other. It offers easy access to Killington and Pico while still feeling peaceful, private, and unmistakably Vermont.
