About this property

Affordable Cottage Steps Away From Lake Avalon

This up north cabin gives you access to pristine Lake Avalon. It's just a three block walk away from a sandy beach access. The cabin offers a secluded feeling surrounded by trees but still close to the lake.
This is a great rental for multiple purposes.

In the summer stay here to be near the lake without the high cost of lake frontage or to have a home base while you sight see beautiful Northern Michigan. In the fall stay here to hunting or go ATVing on the numerous trails near by. In the winter use those trails for snowmobiling. There is plenty of parking for ATV/snowmobile trailers.

The cabin comfortably sleeps 4 with the two bedrooms but can accommodate a blow up mattress in the living room if you're not afraid of close quarters. Plenty of space in the back yard to put up a tent if needed.
The owners are near by if needed throughout the stay. Let them know if you have any special requests. They are more than happy to accommodate.


Cabin comes with wifi and a fire stick to watch streaming services. No cable TV.

The perfect cabin

The cabin was cozy and cute! Honestly, exceeded all our expectations! Just a short walk to the water, and a back porch to enjoy the scenery. We are excited to know of a local rental we can stay at while visiting family up north, we will definitely be back! A from us :)

Cute, cozy cabin that was perfect for our needs and reasonably priced. My family has a lodge on beautiful Lake Avalon, but with a growing family it can get crowded. I was so pleased when I found this little cabin was available and only 5 mins from my family lodge. Check in was easy and the owner was very quick to respond during our correspondence. I would definitely recommend and we hope to be able yo stay again in the future.

We own property close to this rental that needed some TLC. It was walkable and refreshing to come home to after a day of cleaning and yard work. Loved the back deck! Peaceful and enjoyable. We'll be back.

Cute place perfect for our short stay. The only difficulty was parking, because we had 2 full size trucks and trailers. Owner was great at communicating and letting us know what was going on.

My husband and I have deep roots to Lake Avalon and the Hillman area. We bought this cabin for a multitude of reasons but right now we are enjoying renting it out to vacationers.
We live nearby in Alpena but spend as much time on Lake Avalon as we possibly can. My husband, Ted, is an electrician and I, Alysa, work at a title company in Alpena. We have one wild and darling daughter, Ava, and another on the way. They are joined by our huge black lab Boomer.
We love hosting renters and are only a call/text away in you need anything from us during, before, or after your stay.

Why they chose this property

We pride ourselves on offering the most affordable rental property in the area. This cabin is cozy and offers the 'up north' feeling that you want while you visit northern Michigan. You can't get a hotel with two separate room, a kitchen, and a private back porch overlooking the woods for this price. We try to make our guest feel welcome and always ask if there are any special requests we can fulfill. If you're looks to get some lake time, just get away, or be near family for a cheap price, we are the cabin for you!
