About this property

6 BR 'CAMP' House on Twin Lakes - Epic Historic Property

The perfect home for your big group or family, with a charming history! This beautiful, spacious vacation home was formerly part of a children's summer camp and the grounds provide so much more than just a large home in the country. The two story house has 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an enormous living room/kitchen/dining area with stone fireplace. There are 2 separate entertaining rooms, great for kids play or having quiet private time. The large screened in porch is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun set across the trees. This is an epic property of sprawling parklike lawns, gorgeous vistas and tons of activities, directly on Twin Lakes. Stroll down the hill from your 6 bedroom house to the waterfront with 2 private tennis courts where you can rally while watching boats glide by on the lake. Large sandy beach with gradual child-safe incline along water's edge includes racks of lake activities including kayaks, canoes, racing shell, sailboat, all included for tenant's use. Large deck with seating directly on the spring fed lake, great for sitting with small groups enjoying the majestic views of the Berkshire mountains, watching a sunset, sipping a beverage, launching a kayak or swimming in the lake's crystal clear waters. It's a short walk to the Twin Lakes Beach club or to O'Hara's Marina/cafe where you can grab a great breakfast or a grilled cheese and look at the fleet of boats docked there, some of which are for rent. In Winter, cross country ski across the property's vast acreage or the frozen lake. Also close to downhill skiing venues (Catamount and Butternut) and many hiking areas (including AT access) for all abilities. Enjoy the beauty and culture of The Berkshires and Litchfield County year round.

House is situated on the property far from the nearest house, providing guaranteed tranquility. Two other houses on the property are also available for rent if multiple families are interested in renting at the same time. All houses are well amended and distanced from each other on the property's 10 acres.

Note: priority given to full month rentals during the summer season.

Winter Lake House
The lake house was great! A great floor plan for a large group, and cozy bed linens, towels and well stocked kitchen all provided. We were there in December for a family reunion so we were a little disappointed that we did not have much of a lake view from inside, but it is a very short walk and looks like swimming, boating, tennis etc would be wonderful In the summer. The owner and her daughter were very nice and informative and the firewood provided for the big living room fire place was a fabulous addition to our winter stay!

Vintage Lakehouse Charm
Beautiful area of the Southern Berkshires. The house is a renovated old camp house that is a short walk to the lake across a lawn. The whole property is well maintained, there's swimming off the dock and good fishing via the canoes. Bev and Norm were lovely and we look forward to visiting again!

Perfect family summer getaway
Lovely, spotless, fully equipped camp style long house in a very peaceful, secluded lake shore property, easily accessible from NYC or Boston with lots of family friendly activities, including hiking, berry picking, biking, boating and swimming. Owners were very warm, friendly and flexible and made our annual family reunion relaxed and very memorable- we felt like we were at summer camp again, but with all the amenities of home!

Wonderful lakehouse with tennis and basketball
Bev and Norm are a friendly and helpful couple who clearly are proud of their property. They deserve this pride, because the house we rented was perfect for our family of 12. The house was in very good shape, clean, comfortable and well stocked. The setting is beautiful because of the lake, the tennis courts and basketball court. In addition, there are kayaks and canoes that come with the rental. We would love to rent this house next year.
