Good turned to great.
Everything plus more provided. Even bears. Insane experience. Laying on the couch. Bears outside the door. Awesome. That is besides the awesome island life.

Quiet stay in the woods
Chris was a breeze to work with and by and large we enjoyed our stay a great deal. We are not a hunting family and some were a bit put off by the sheer number of antlers. We really enjoyed other aspects of the lodge though such as numerous sightings of mama bear and her three cubs as well as deer and great mushroom hunting in the nearby woods. Even after feeding a group of ten, we took dried chanterelles and black funnels home. Township beach is less than two miles away making it walkable or bikable. The lodge was very clean and tidy with a good sized kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, decent beds, and a great outdoor shower. On the downside, the building is set into deep woods and so tended to be dark inside, bring indoor games or puzzles for rainy days, no common dining area for more than six. BUT also very few mosquitos.

Serene spot in the woods
We had a wonderful time at Chris' place-the house was comfortable for all of us, the kitchen was very well stocked, so easy to cook for a large group, great wildlife viewing (mom bear with cubs and many deer) convenient to town. Overall a great place to vacation, one that I highly recommend!!

Beautiful home & Wonderful host
This was the perfect location for our first full family trip! Plenty of space in this beautiful home and the host was amazing. We had 7 adults and 3 kids 0-3. The rooms were plenty big enough to accommodate all of us and we still had beds and the crow’s nest to spare. Walls of the rooms must be pretty thick because no one noticed restless kids at night. We loved the outdoor shower too! It was perfect for rinsing off sand after a day at the nearby beach. The host is top notch! He was quick to reply and so kind about all the questions we had. The home was clean, comfy, and located in a luscious wooded environment. We saw deer the first two days! In short, we all loved it and definitely recommend this home and host!

Just One More Lodge is a family owned cabin. We originate from Clayton, WI. We have had connections with Madeline Island for many, many years. We built the lodge in 2000 and have had been making great memories ever since.

Why they chose this property

We decided to build our cabin on Madeline Island because we this place means so much to us. My grandfather and dad started coming to Madeline Island in the 1960's to hunt deer. That tradition carried onto my brother, myself, and now my son. We spent so much time on the Island and made so many wonderful friendships, we decided we wanted to build a place of our own.

What makes this property unique

The Island itself seems like a magical cure for stress...our beautiful lodge just adds to the overall enjoyment. To be able to look in basically any and all directions and see woods is amazing. We love sitting on the picnic table on the front patio and socializing. I am also a big fan of fires, so either we are outside with a fire or inside with a fire, I am very happy! There is no better place to jump in the vehicle, roll the windows down, and go on a cruise.
