Step outside to your own private dock, where you can swim, fish, launch a kayak easily from our kayak launch or just sit back with a drink in hand as you soak in unforgettable sunsets reflecting off the water. Spend your days exploring the serene coastal waters or kayaking through the scenic mangrove trails—we’ve got kayaks ready for you! Explore the area and local restaurants using our included golf cart (driven by adults only)

Inside, you'll find a spacious and comfortable 4-bedroom, 2-bath retreat perfect for families or groups. After a day in the sun, unwind in the fully-loaded game room featuring vintage arcade machines, air hockey, ping pong, giant connect four and more — fun for all ages!

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:

Load the dishwasher

Strip any used beds

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys

Checkout is 11:00 AM. Please place used towels in the tub, strip sheets but leave matress and pillow covers on. Load the dishwasher, place trash in blue bin. Reset furniture to original spots. Thanks!

Pick up pet waste, rinse off kayaks, and return all paddles/life jackets. Clean up obvious pet hair. Please help us keep it clean for future guests!

Turn off lights, lock windows/doors, set A/C to 75°F auto, and double-check for belongings. Let us know about any issues. Thanks for staying at The Safe Haven Mermaid House

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Clean, well stocked, comfortable vacation home! Communication with host was almost immediate-very helpful when asked about the surrounding area. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck with our morning coffee and Happy Hour beverages. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Omar and Shelley!!

This house had everything we needed for two families with 3 teenagers. We cooked and grilled several meals and appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. The communication with the owner was quick and friendly. We loved all the amenities like the kayaks and games provided. There was plenty of seating and lounging spaces and the home was beautifully decorated with a beachy theme. The location was great for a more quieter retreat but not too far from all the fun! Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful Home

The home was very comfortable; everything in good working order, including AC, hot water, etc. The kitchen included everything we needed. The only issue was that the grass had not been mowed. We had a great time in the area.

We stayed at this property with another family for a total of 4 adults and 6 kids. The kids ranged in age from 6 to 15 years old. It was really great having an adult space on the 2nd floor with the 2 bedrooms and a kid zone on the bottom floor with another 2 bedrooms and games. The kids loved fishing off the dock of the house (rods provided) and caught a lot of fish, though all too small to keep. Make sure to pick up some shrimp bait! The kitchen was stocked with coffee, milk, spices, and a welcome basket. The furniture was in good shape and it looked like parts of the house had just been remodeled. The house is within kayaking distance to Hernando Beach Tropical Grille and just a few minutes drive to other popular restaurants like Lazy Lizard. We were just 15 minutes from Weeki Wachee Park. We enjoyed eating meals outside on the balcony off the kitchen. There were a couple areas that could have been cleaner, but the owner was very open to hearing feedback so I am sure that will be addressed. He was also very accommodating during the reservation process. We were there for a quick Friday to Sunday visit. The larger queen bedroom has a walk-in closet and is a good size room. Some of the other rooms were a little tight, depending on if you wanted to open dressers or how many people were in the room, but for a short weekend stay, it worked well. This was our first trip to the area and we found the perfect house to balance our weekend of activity and R&R.
