Let me start by saying Linda was a great host, she was very responsive and answered my text very quickly and worked on solving any issues that we had, the house was great for a guys trip, house on the water ( we had a boat), hot tub & pool and plenty of living space, it is a little dated but overall a great place!! Thank you Linda!!
The house was very nice but needed some tile floor repair in a few spots in kitchen and living room. They need a new king size mattress. Linda was quick to respond and fix any thing that she could. All considered with 2 hurricanes it may have been listed prematurely. I’m sure Linda will get everything repaired.
Property was clean and spacious. We lived the pool and hot tub, used it daily! Makes traveling with pets great! We also enjoyed using the bikes. Wish there would have been kayaks on site to use, however, there are several places down the road to rent and enjoy the springs. Would definitely go back again!
The house had plenty of room but is extremely dated. My husband kept hitting his head on the low hanging 70s lights. The light switches were also in weird locations and the bedrooms were awkwardly shaped. We just used the master which was very spacious. The dock was great for our 24 foot boat and we enjoyed the pool after a long day out in the sun. The house has a lot of potential. It just needs some love.
It was perfect for us and the listing was just as described. Everything was very clean and very 70's (we wish we had brought a 70's outfit for some very cool pictures) - we loved it! There is a tiny garage with 2 really nice bikes. The area is very quiet. If you read all the reviews like I did it seems like the property owner sees them and fixes any problems. There was a really nice pool skimmer, but the pool was very clean so we didn't need it, there were lounge chairs (but I brought my own), and there is basically everything needed for fishing. We hope to go back again next year - it is my husband new favorite place.
If you weren’t aware, Hernando Beach isn’t a beach. We thought we were renting in Weeki Wachee-wrong. Rechecked the VRBO listing & our error. We had a few issues but Linda tried to fix. After rereading reviews, some of our issues were the same issues that were addressed over a year ago.
We’re used to renting high end homes. Unfortunately, this isn’t one of those. It could be with a little refreshing. Part of what bothered me was that it just didn’t feel like anyone really cared about this property. It could have been a real showstopper but there were lots of nails with no photos/art, old furniture and wires hanging which used to connect to things. One sliding door doesn’t even lock.
The pool was unusable. It was filled with tiny bugs that just floated on top of the water because the skimmer didn’t work. Part of that is probably cause from a torn screen on the lanai (which Linda did have a repair man come and look at while we were there).
The cleaning person was still there when we tried checking in at 4:00 so we finally checked in around 5:30 but the smell of bleach was so overwhelming we had to open all doors and air it out and then we couldn’t get the house to cool down, so sleeping that first night was unpleasant.
Bar floor wasn’t cleaned, there were 2 huge dead bugs on floor. Par for the course in Fl. We went to strip beds before we left, there was a fishing hook under one pillow. We never fished.
Wasn’t horrible but wouldn’t return. Not worth the $$
Overall we really liked the house. Like other reviewers have mentioned it is an older home with some quirks. The kitchen and bathrooms are newer, tile all through the home. The pool was nice and the floating dock was perfect for our boat. Our main issue with the home was the AC. During the day it would go up into the mid 80s and wouldn't go back down until very late into the evening/next morning. We did reach out to the property manager and they did eventually send someone out. What they did helped but didn't really solve the ac issue during the day. Would I stay there again? Yes. You cant really beat the location for boating.
To start, the price was amazing for a whole week! The property manager, Linda, was so sweet, very communicative and helpful! The house was great, we all enjoyed the pool and caught several fish off the dock! The house stayed kind of warm the whole week but the weather was super hot and humid so I think it was just struggling to keep up. We loved staying here! The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable and had plenty of room! Thank you so much for a wonderful home to stay in! Many memories made!
Cute home… very spacious… awesome pool and dock… air conditioner is a little undersized for the house but owner was wonderful about getting someone there to fix it… kitchen is a little small and needs more pots and pans… we would stay here again… Linda is great!
My family and I really enjoyed our 9 day stay here. The house was perfect for us. Dock for our boat, pool to cool off in and lots of room inside. No complaints here!
The house was as described. It was able to accommodate our family. We chose this location to be close to the park. It is a walkable neighborhood, which was great for our dog.
We had a wonderful stay with the family! The pool and hot tub were the best and we were there most days and most hours of the day! Fishing off the dock was great! We rented a pontoon boat for the day and docked it right in the back then went out to the flats for a fun excursion. Everything we needed including towels, linens, dishware and utensils were included.
Linda checked in with us to make sure we arrived okay and answered our text when needed.
I read some mixed reviews about the place being a bit rough around the edges and that may be true, but it is an older home; retro at this point, and I believe is priced appropriately. It definitely did not take away from our experience, in fact the retro feel was pretty cool.
We are all already daydreaming about returning to this awesome spot!
We enjoyed the family time on the water as well as the pool at the home. Loved the property manager she was so sweet and accommodating. Only down side was having to vacate for 2 nights and pay extra for motel room because of mandatory evacuation. But overall enjoyed it very much.
The property manager was great.
The home is outdated but we could see that in the pics- not a huge deal
We had some a/c issues - the pm sent a/c guy right away. Still no a/c circulation in the back (queen) room but luckily my daughter and bf could move to the twin room sine we only required 2 rooms.
Not much in the way of basic needs. No paper towels/napkins. No pepper. The pans we had to use were , ugh, not good. Please replace those horrible pans.
I asked before we arrived if there were wine glasses and was told yes there are. All wine "glasses" were plastic.
When we left i texted the pm and told her trash is out , dishwasher started but that i couldnt start the towels for you because there was no laundry soap and she replied "we dont provide laundry soap to guests" lol. I think she missed my point that i was trying to help but whatever lol
Its an okay place if your expectations are set accordingly. It could definitely use some tlc.
We enjoyed the waterfront atmosphere and community.
The pool and hot tub were amazing.
Thebhome is well equipped and very comfortable.
The host Linda is a pleasure to deal with.
The kids had an awesome time.for the most part Everything was really clean. More then enough space for the family to be comfortable plenty of things todo I’d recommend definitely had a good vacation
Loved the location, but house was in need of some TLC. Lighting issues and ceiling fans were addressed by us once we arrived. Pool and hot tub were great once the heating issue was addressed. Linda did promptly respond to my questions.
