Why they chose this property
Historical Background of home:
The Craven House was purchased in late 2023. The original farmhouse and the 100+ year old two-story back addition was in very poor condition and largely torn down to the studs prior to purchase. Unfortunately, much of the vintage baseboard, casing, wainscot, crown trim, built-ins, and doors had been removed and exposed to the elements. With no photos of the interiors to guide the future renovation, the owners aimed to restore as much of the historical integrity and ornate finishes as possible. Most of the original Victorian era doors, casings, and knobs have now been repurposed as vintage décor/accents to give more authentic period details. Any original furniture left behind was restored, refurbished, or reused whenever possible. Many other vintage furniture pieces were sourced from era-appropriate architectural salvage stores.
The original full acre + Craven estate was subdivided and sold into several different adjacent properties.
