About this property
Treehouse Escape -Hot Tub, Amazing Views
Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. Very private on three acres of beautiful mountainside land at 4,000 feet elevation, at this wide open three-bedroom, three-bath home. Enjoy time with friends in a five person hot tub, gather around the outdoor gas firepit, and take in inspiring mountain and valley views from the two decks.
The Space
We welcome you to bring up to two of your canine family members along for your visit for an additional $150 pet fee at checkout, regardless of the length of your stay. The side yard is fenced in, and a great place to let your dogs burn some energy. The upper and lower decks have gates at all the entrances so you can safely let your pups roam around the decks and side yard. Dog bowls and accessories are located just inside the sliding door on the lower level. Upon request, we also offer a dog kennel for your use.
Our home is perfect for couples or families of all ages. For families with young children, we've provided a pack n play, a high chair and stroller in a lower level closet. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, the main level can be entered from the road, no stairs. This level has two bedrooms and two baths, kitchen, dining room, gas fireplace, den, a spacious living room and a walk-out, covered deck with a gas fire pit, so it is a great set up .
Cozy up in the lower living room next to the gas woodstove, and enjoy playing games, reading a book, or watching movies or sports (including SEC, ACC, B1G and Pac 12 Networks) on the Samsung smart TV, with Dish Network on all of the TV's in the house.
Sleep in comfort. All three bedrooms feature king size beds with memory foam mattresses. All bedrooms have a Samsung smart TV, with Dish Network. Extra blankets and pillows are also in each bedroom. A sleeper sofa can be found in the upstairs den, and linens are in the den cabinet.
Have fun with board games and puzzles that can be found in the closet of the main living room, and on the shelves in the lower living room. You will also find a card table and chairs in the master closet - great for board games and doing puzzles. If you forgot to bring a book to read, or have finished the one you are reading, no worries, we have shelves of books for exchanging.
Relax on the porch swing, and padded chairs, around the propane firepit any time of year. Outdoor wood burning fires are not allowed, for your safety and those living on the mountain. Gas fireplace and woodstove in the upper and lower living areas are easy to operate with push-button, auto-on controls, and are available for use October 1st through April 1st. (Gas is shut off inside the home May, June, July, August and September)
Laundry, a clothes drying rack, and a second refrigerator are all located on the lower level. Extra towels for the hot tub are located just inside the sliding door of the lower living room.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire house, except for the garage.
Other things to note
The drive up the mountain is worth it, for the great views, peaceful quiet, cooler temperatures and lower humidity!
Because we are near the top of the mountain, the last mile of the drive is on mountain roads, Walnut Creek Rd. and Mountainside Drive. Four wheel drive is not necessary, except for winter time. Both roads are well maintained, however they are narrow in places. Two sections, about 1/4 mile total, are gravel. There are only a few houses at the top of the mountain, but you may have an occasion where you will need to pull over to allow another car to pass.
We recommend arriving during daylight to check-in. This will make your first time driving up much easier.
Driving in, we recommend taking a left onto Mountainside Drive, as soon as you see the sign. Then back into the driveway when you get to the house, where there is room for 2 cars, side by side, and a 3rd car ahead in the driveway.
When leaving the house, veer right out of the driveway onto Mountainside Dr., it is a loop and it will take you back down the mountain.
Upon arrival, you can unload by stopping on Mountainside Drive, in front of the main entrance to the house. This allows easy unloading, without any stairs. Only a few cars use Mountainside Dr. each day, but be aware that if a neighbor needs to pass, you may have to move your car.
Please note: There is no trash pickup on the mountain. Please take your trash with you, or it can be disposed of at the Haywood County Solid Waste Convenience Center, at 199 Hemlock Street, Waynesville. Go past Walmart, behind Ingles. Open 7am to 5pm daily, closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
Tons of fun things to do in Waynesville and the surrounding gorgeous mountain areas! Please enjoy your stay with us and let us know how we can make your next stay better. We always appreciate your reviews here as well as our guest books in the home. Thanks for staying!
Guest access
Every part of the house is available except for the garage.
Other things to note
The cleaning fee includes hot tub cleaning.
*Please note this cabin is located up a climbing, mountain road and 4-wheel drive may be necessary in the case of snow or ice
We STRONGLY recommend our guests come prepared for inclement weather. Often mountain roads can become impassable from heavy snowfall. We encourage our guests to be prepared with extra supplies such as food/beverages etc. We do recommend 4WD or AWD for this property.
Do not attempt to maneuver around mountain roads if you are not familiar with how to operate a vehicle in the snow or a vehicle with tire chains in the snow. Please observe local weather advisement guidelines.
