Luxurious, rustic, private vacation home with great view.

Voyager Rest is ideally located to enjoy the incredible beauty of wild wonderful West Virginia! It is situated on a private 7+ acre lot, within Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge - within Old Timberline gated resort community. It offers complete privacy, yet is just minutes from countless outdoor pursuits.

The interior of Voyager Rest is exquisitely finished with antiques and collectables from around the globe. It is truly one of a kind. It includes, a large stone wood-burning fireplace, oak beams, antique hardwood and slate flooring, stone showers, and granite counter-tops fitted with hand-made copper sinks. Two kayaks are available to guests; one at each lake (Please see orientation).

Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge was the 500th National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) to be established in the United States. The refuge preserves a moist valley with unique wetlands and uplands at a relatively high elevation in the Allegheny Mountains.

Note guests have access to fishing at (2) lakes within the Old Timberline community <5min from the cabin - no fishing license required within the community.

This was a charming and comfortable base for biking and hiking in the Canaan Valley and areas beyond. We appreciated both the privacy of the bedrooms and the ample space in the living/dining room and kitchen. Nice views off the balcony, easy to use hot tub added to our enjoyment of the property.

Voyager Rest is a truly unique house. It is situated on over 7 lovely acres with amazing views. It is a secluded, quiet (except for birds singing), and relaxing location. The kitchen is particularly well equipped with most anything you would need. The covered deck off the living area was a favorite place to be for all of us.

Absolutely beautiful location. We spent a week here for our honeymoon and loved it! Very private with no neighbors. We were next to the creek and opened the windows at night to hear the birds and water. Enjoyed taking our kayaks to the lakes onsite and caught lots of fish. Cabin was extremely well maintained with beautiful architecture throughout and nice stone showers. Fireplace was perfect for chilly evenings. Would highly recommend, and hope to come back for an anniversary.

We loved everything about this cabin and would highly recommend it. The cabin was very clean and exactly as pictured. We enjoyed hiking trails nearby that had beautiful waterfalls as well as canoeing and fishing at the lakes in the area. The hot tub was amazing! The home owner Jim was very friendly and informative about things to do in the area.

We have stayed at Voyager's Rest several times now and always enjoy our stay. It is comfortable and clean and the setting is gorgeous. We skied, hiked and enjoyed the hot tub. Incredible views and amazing sunsets over the ridge from the hot tub! Not to mention a history lesson and discovery of antiquities from your world travel collection. The home was the best vrbo choice we have ever made. Stunning Mountain view, secluded but accessible, and ample space for such a comfortable stay. The beautiful kitchen was a treat. We so enjoyed the world travel artifacts that the host has generously shared as furnishings. Spotlessly clean. Great hot tub. Convenient laundry. Unique cavelike stone showers!
