Luxurious, rustic, private vacation home with great view.

Voyager Rest is ideally located to enjoy the incredible beauty of wild wonderful West Virginia! It is situated on a private 7+ acre lot, within Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge - within Old Timberline gated resort community. It offers complete privacy, yet is just minutes from countless outdoor pursuits.

The interior of Voyager Rest is exquisitely finished with antiques and collectables from around the globe. It is truly one of a kind. It includes, a large stone wood-burning fireplace, oak beams, antique hardwood and slate flooring, stone showers, and granite counter-tops fitted with hand-made copper sinks. Two kayaks are available to guests; one at each lake (Please see orientation).

Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge was the 500th National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) to be established in the United States. The refuge preserves a moist valley with unique wetlands and uplands at a relatively high elevation in the Allegheny Mountains.

Note guests have access to fishing at (2) lakes within the Old Timberline community <5min from the cabin - no fishing license required within the community.

What a beautiful home! Didn’t know what to expect but we were both blown away by the cozy feeling the home has, and it was fun just to walk around and look at everything. Really enjoyed the seclusion and the amazing view. Beds and showers were excellent. Would definitely like to visit again during the winter season as well.

Voyager Rest is a great house with a wonderful view. It is very peaceful with no other homes right next door. The home is furnished with everything you need. Great outdoor space with seating and fire pit. Hot tub is relaxing looking at the wonderful views. Jim and Nichole are great host/hostess Communication is very efficient with quick response time.

This was a charming and comfortable base for biking and hiking in the Canaan Valley and areas beyond. We appreciated both the privacy of the bedrooms and the ample space in the living/dining room and kitchen. Nice views off the balcony, easy to use hot tub added to our enjoyment of the property.

The property was everything as promised and more. The interior furnishings were interesting and fun to look at - not a normal driver for selecting a property but a real plus. Gave home warmth and unique vibe without feeling cluttered. The space was wide open, the views were fantastic, the location perfect for surrounding areas. Minimal communication was needed to secure the rental and manage the process - just the way we like it. Everything. about the place was first-class, but maintained a low-key comfortable vibe. We didn't do a lot of cooking but the kitchen was well-appointed, organized and easy to find your way around.Just the two of us, we would come back and will. As an aside, the dining room chairs and copper table are exactly the same as we have at home! The home was, as otherwise stated, unique, warm and the perfect get away. We loved it!!

Voyager Rest is a truly unique house. It is situated on over 7 lovely acres with amazing views. It is a secluded, quiet (except for birds singing), and relaxing location. The kitchen is particularly well equipped with most anything you would need. The covered deck off the living area was a favorite place to be for all of us.

We loved everything about this cabin and would highly recommend it. The cabin was very clean and exactly as pictured. We enjoyed hiking trails nearby that had beautiful waterfalls as well as canoeing and fishing at the lakes in the area. The hot tub was amazing! The home owner Jim was very friendly and informative about things to do in the area.

Absolutely beautiful location. We spent a week here for our honeymoon and loved it! Very private with no neighbors. We were next to the creek and opened the windows at night to hear the birds and water. Enjoyed taking our kayaks to the lakes onsite and caught lots of fish. Cabin was extremely well maintained with beautiful architecture throughout and nice stone showers. Fireplace was perfect for chilly evenings. Would highly recommend, and hope to come back for an anniversary.

Voyager Rest was beautiful, had everything we needed, and the host provided a very helpful guide to the place and the area before we arrived. We were also very impressed with how the driveway was maintained and accessible, since we arrived in the middle of winter and after a snow storm!

We have stayed at Voyager's Rest several times now and always enjoy our stay. It is comfortable and clean and the setting is gorgeous. We skied, hiked and enjoyed the hot tub. Jim is a great host and has given us grace on our arrival and departure times - which we appreciate! Looking forward to returning in 2027.

This place is absolutely perfect! There is so much charm and character, you have to see it to believe it! The beds are comfy, the showers are great and the hot tub was very clean and enjoyable.
