Enjoy spacious accommodations and sunlit filled three floor living with striking views of your own private pond oasis. A labor of love, Kings Mountain Cottage was built over a period of 5 years beginning in 2005 with meticulous attention to detail - A well equipped kitchen, granite fireplace, and 150 year old wood floors round out the space. Nature is abundant here, but creature comforts have been meticulously addressed to cater to the best of both worlds.
5 star linens, grill, your own private dock, Kings Mountain Cottage has it all. We so enjoyed our stay - very cozy and comfortable cabin- lovely view and great kayaking and outdoor space. Close enough to Acadia for a day trip and hiking. We walked in the neighborhood every morning and saw dear on several occasions . Highly recommend this lovely place .
This cabin was beautiful!!! You could definitely see and feel all of the work that was put into this place. My husband and I actually live on a pond so this place really felt like home. The water was beautiful and listening to the loons at night was peaceful. Jason, our host, was very responsive when we had questions. We would definitely stay here again!!
It was a lovely cottage serenaded by loon lullabies. The owners provided many family activities, both indoor and outdoor. They provided access to canoes, paddle boats and kayaks. We would stay there again
Two of us stayed with or dog for over two weeks and it was a great place to unwind and relax. Such a tranquil spot with plenty of water activities for sunny days, and plenty of puzzles, books, movies and music for rainy days. Check-in and out was seamless as was communication with the host. A perfect cabin getaway!
The location of the home was absolutely beautiful! Everything about the property was as expected! There was plenty of space for us. The views were wonderful. We only were able to stay 2 nights and we were gone ALL day, so we didn’t use the kitchen or outside facilities, but both were ready for use and would have been easy to use!! Would love to come back some day and stay longer!!
Lovely cabin by the water. Comfy bed, soft linens. Even the fire place was ready-all that needed to be done was strike a match! Tons of games & books. Don't bother to pack your own.
This was a beautifully built home in a relaxing location. The house was chock full of things to do, but I went there to just relax. The view from every floor was wonderful, as was listening to and seeing all the birds. Downtown Bangor was just a short drive away, and better still there are two excellent disc golf courses only 4 minutes away.
Great place to stay to relax at the property or head to Acadia. Jason had great eating recommendations in Bangor. We also had some chill time at the camp complete with a bonfire, hot dogs, s’mores, and even a quick canoe trip on the pond. Open the windows, listen to the loons, and pick out your favorite movie to watch in the basement. You won’t be disappointed. Only complaint is that we couldn’t stay another day!

Great place in a great location on the lake.
My wife and I and our two boys had a great time at this cottage. It was very well furnished and the rustic cabin charm was wonderful. We enjoyed spending time around the fire pit right at the edge of the lake and we also enjoyed the wood burning fireplace on the main floor of the cottage. It was nice sitting by the fireplace just playing games. We also had a great time out on the lake. There is a canoe and kayaks as well as new fishing poles and tackle so everything you need to fish is there waiting for you. The convenience store at the end of the road sells worms if you want those. My sons and I caught fish from the dock and from the canoe out in the lake. We caught a bunch of sunfish, a chain pickerel and a really nice smallmouth bass. This was really a relaxing and enjoyable stay and the owner was very helpful and accommodating through the entire process. Arriving and checking out was a breeze and being able to text the owner Jason with any questions was quite helpful and comforting. If you’re looking for a get away in a classic lake cottage located in a scenic, quiet setting, this is a great choice.
The home is as described and the lake is absolutely beautiful. We were most often the only ones on the lake with the loons and the eagle flying by.... exquisite tranquillity and solitude. The house is very well equipped with an amazing attention to detail, making the stay very comfortable and welcoming. It was very relaxing and we enjoyed being not too far from restaurants etc. Ample room for our family for four and the dog made for a fantastic relaxing vacation.
Over 50 couple visited Acadia and needed to rest and relax. We met up with my sister to gather after not seeing each other for 2 years. We opened the many beautiful windows and relaxed in the welcoming breeze. The pond was almost all ours to explore by kayak and canoe. We listened to the collection of vinyl records, walked on the nearby Audubon trails, had fun meeting other Stephen King fans visiting Bangor sights, and enjoyed a perfectly prepared fire pit. Relaxation in this private waterfront pond was just what we needed to rest our souls and reconnect with nature.
The house is stocked remarkably well and is very comfortable. The location is quite and tranquil, but not that far from lots of great things to do. We spent some days out at Acadia, but were also happy to stay put all day. It was an overall great house to stay in.
Lovely location in very homey property. So quiet on the lake , you can only hear the occasional loon. Bed super comfy-felt like we were sleeping in a treehouse with the views. Great communication with owner as well. Wonderful stay.
This is an amazing lakefront cottage. We enjoyed very much of our stay!
House is very clean, cozy. Plenty of kayaks and canoes to enjoy. The sunset view from the lake is breathtaking. The host is very responsive as well. Would love to come back in the future.
Beautiful property, thoughtfully furnished and well maintained
Three different levels in this house, each with their own separate charm and features. Waking up to the views of the lake in the morning and kayaking in the evening made this the perfect base for us as we enjoyed touring this area of Maine.
A beautiful, secluded, home located on the banks of a large pond. Very clean, cozy and quiet. There was plenty of space to relax and we felt at home right away. The beds were super comfortable. It was nice to go out in the morning and sit by the shoreline with a coffee and watch the sun rise as the loons fished and played in the water.
The owners are very responsive and nice to work with.
I highly recommend this location.
Everything you need is here for a wonderful vacation.

The perfect getaway for a full Maine experience!
More often than not just pictures is not enough to really get a feeling about a place. I booked Kings Mountain Cottage for a couple of days to get away from NYC with my two daughters ages 12 and 13. When we got there it was all that we were looking for and more. This is not a simple cabin, its a small 3 story house with all the amenities you can imagine and need. It has a master bedroom with a king size bed and en suite bathroom. Main floor has a kitchen, dining room area, fire place and lounge area overlooking the gorgeous Swetts Pond. And the bottom floor has what city slickers like me are used to, a big screen tv with Roku so after a full day of outdoor activities you can lie down and relax watching your favorite show or a scary movie which is perfect for the location.
Jason is a great host and very easy to reach and has done an amazing job making sure everything is in place to really enjoy the outdoors. You have at your disposal canoes, kayaks, floating devices, fishing rods..... you name it King Mountain Cottage has it. My two daughters could be swimming in the pond for hours or just relaxing with floating mats.....
You can definitely feel you are off the beaten path here but at the same time you have all the shopping you need juts a few minutes away and if you are in the mood or have more time you have Acadia National Park and beautiful Bar Harbor just 1 hour drive away, as well as many other outdoor activities like white water rafting, hiking, biking......
I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for some peace and tranquility, enjoys the outdoors and just wants to have a truly memorable experience.
I also think this place must be amazing in the middle of winter full of snow and just enjoy a nice fire and cup of joe by the fire place.
