We thoroughly enjoyed this home. The lake it sits on is beautiful, and it is close enough to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and surrounding areas to take daily trips there. First time in Maine, and although the weather didnt cooperate, the house made our time here very enjoyable.
The home was very nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay at the home. It was a nice base for trips to Acadia and to Baxter. Our boys enjoyed the lake, the canoe/kayaks, and fishing from the dock. The home had plenty of room and everything that you need. Communication with the owners was quick and easy and they are very pleasant to work with.
We stayed with our group of family plus a friend. Great lake location. Beautiful scenery. Well stocked house, clean, met our expectations plus some. Great owners with a nice personal touch with a book of history and recommendations (thanks!). This house did not disappoint. Thank you!
The house and property were perfect! The home was clean and had everything we needed. The property on the lake was gorgeous and peaceful. Convenient location to surrounding towns with plenty of restaurants and hiking. We were able to get some kayaking in as well and it was great to have options at the lake with kayaks, canoe and peddle boat. Kathleen was super responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this lake house!
My three sisters and I get together once a year to reunite. This home is the perfect place over looking Green Lake. It’s extremely clean, comfortable with a lot of supplies. We had a canoe, paddle boat and kayaks at our disposal. Absolutely spectacular views. We will definitely be back next year.

Even my 2 teenagers were happy
We greatly enjoyed canoeing, kayaking and fishing on the beautiful lake. The house was very clean and quiet. We did leave the lake long enough for day trips to Acadia and Bangor. We'll never forget our 13 year old catching his first catfish.
The house was exceptionally clean, the kitchen well-stocked (for six people) and supplies were available as expected. We stayed mid-October ... too late for swimming, and also a week late for fishing on the lake pewr Maine rules :( . The beds were comfortable, everything well maintained and working. House is convenient to Acadia (for a lakeside location off MDI). We enjoyed our brief three night stay, enjoyed the views and firepit, and it certainly merits a summertime re-visit to better enjoy the beautiful lake.
This cabin is absolutely amazing !! The cleanliness of the cabin, location, and atmosphere made for the most perfect vacation in Maine ! This is a must book for family or couples a great hike just down the road if you want to stay close to cabin but still get all the feels of Maine ! Most of all the cleanliness for us and love shown in this rental ! Thank you for a wonderful trip !
Our family had a wonderful time at Kathleen’s home while visiting Acadia National Park. Everything was close by yet the home was peaceful on Green Lake with everything needed to relax and hang out.
This home was absolutely perfect for a relaxing lake getaway! My family loved taking day trips to Acadia, riding the Revolution Rail Co. along the lake, and spending quality time together at this beautiful property. The house was clean, spacious, and had a stunning lake front. Check-in was simple, the kitchen was well-stocked with appliances for cooking, and the property manager was friendly and easy to communicate with. A wonderful place all around!
This was a beautiful property, right on Green Lake. Nicely landscaped and very clean. We had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, blankets, fans etc. We visited Acadia National Park one day (about a 45 minute drive) and went to Fort Knox and Penobscot Narrows Bridge (an interesting old fort on the river and a bridge with a high observatory you can go up in by elevator). We also used the kayaks, canoe and paddleboat at the house to go out and explore the lake. We used the fire ring on the deck each night, and there was a nice sitting area on the deck to have meals. We had our morning coffee in the reclining chairs down by the water.
Every summer my best friend and I rent a house and take our kids on a vacation. We both had no experience in Maine, so we just found this house and booked it. It ended up absolutely perfect. Within seconds of entering the house, the kids immediately ran down the path to play with all of the lake toys and swam until dark. The older kids loved exploring the nearby island. The house was close to all of our planned activities in bar harbor and Acadia. The kids all agreed that this was out of all of our summer vacations, this one was the best because of the lake. We also spotted a huge turtle under the dock. Everything about this house is pure magic!
This house is perfect and one of our favorite that we’ve ever stayed at in Maine. The house is clean, spacious and well equipped. It’s just steps from beautiful Green Lake. They have a great dock with canoes, kayaks and a paddle boat to get out on the water. And maybe our favorite part is the beautiful patio with grill and fire pit where we enjoyed eating dinners, hanging out by the campfire and quiet morning coffee.
We’ve stayed at many lake rentals in Maine and this was the first time my wife said “we’ve found our summer vacation spot!” We definitely plan to be back!
This place is fantastic! Exactly what we were looking for when travelling all the way out to the wilderness of Maine. Perfect access to the lake with the sandy beach for ease of in/out with the canoe, kayaks and swimming. Love the views from inside the house and everything inside was clean and orderly. Would absolutely recommend to anyone travelling to Bar Harbor or Bangor as we came for a concert and was only a quick 30 min drive with lobster roll stops all around. Pictures online do not do this place justice!
House was clean and well stocked, great location with water access. Great dock for boating. Perfect house for a small family with two good size bedrooms and an extra small third bedroom. Very nice kitchen and outdoor patio with firepit and charcoal grill. Patio and water access would not be great for smaller children as mentioned in listing but was great for teens. Green Lake is big and beautiful -

About the host
Hosted by Kathleen Harding-Heber
Our dream of waterfront property came true in 2010 when we bought this beautiful piece of land. We built the home over a period of 4 years with all the specifications we wanted for our eventual retirement haven. We've made many upgrades including a steel dock system and granite counters.
Why they chose this property
Conveniently located half way between Bangor and Acadia National Park - this area has so much to offer. Shopping, concerts, nightlife in Bangor & a slower paced coastal feeling in Ellsworth and Bar Harbor nearby.
What makes this property unique
Pristine new construction. This is not a typical camp - it's a beautiful home on the water with every feature for outdoor living - and wireless internet if you need to work while you vacation. There's so much to do & see. Nearby hiking trails & a beautiful all natural rock slide within hiking distance. Great fishing from our paddle boat, kayaks or canoe or bring your own fishing boat and go exploring on the 9 miles of beautiful lake that crosses 3 towns.
