We had a wonderful stay! The property was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The open-concept layout gave our family plenty of room to spread out and relax after a long day of traveling in the car. We especially appreciated having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer, which made our stay much more convenient. The location was excellent and one of the biggest highlights. It was the perfect home base for exploring the Black Hills. We were just a short drive from Crazy Horse and Custer State Park, and it made it easy to visit Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road, and the Wildlife Loop. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the area.
We were traveling with our 3 daughters, ages 9, 12, and 14 and decided to extend our vacation in Custer by 2 days. We were lucky enough to find this home and wished we had stayed here the whole week! The home is absolutely beautiful with everything you need away from home. The beds were so comfortable and the furniture comfortable during the evening when we played some of the games that were available there. Two very nice bathrooms with great shampoo/conditioner/body wash already in the showers (and I’m picky with very thick hair!)I’m an occupational therapist so I always look at things in terms of accessibility as well (grew up with a brother in a wheelchair so great when places meet those needs too.) This home has no steps from the garage to enter from the back door. The main living area is open floor plan and could be accessed. I am not sure about widths of the doorways they may be tight for a standard 18x18 wheelchair but they may make it into the bedrooms. They certainly could be accessed easily with a walker. The only downside is that the door to the master bathroom swings into the bathroom and would make accessing this bathroom from a wheelchair impossible. Which is to bad because it has a step in shower with only about an inch lip and a shower curtain that could easily be transferred into on a shower chair if needed. The second bathroom is a tub/shower with two doors to access from 2nd bed or main area, doors open outward and could be accessed from w/c or walker.

Why they chose this property
The City of Custer is a perfect central location for anyone wanting to maximize their time with the sights and experiences of the Black Hills region. You are a very short distance from Jewel Cave. Going the opposite direction takes you to nearby Custer State Park, Needles Highway and Mount Rushmore. Crazy Horse Memorial, a must see, is just up the road from our place. Custer is small enough to walk around and get your groceries, eat at amazing restaurants, grab some souvenirs, or taste the locally brewed beers at Rushmore Brewery. We think it's the BEST location to experience all that the Black Hills have to offer.
What makes this property unique
This property is brand new. We oversaw the building process throughout, which allowed us to pay attention to the tiny details. Hopefully you will see that we have family with a knack for furnishing a home that is inviting and perfectly fits the Black Hills vibe.
