This place is really cute and very clean inside and out. Which is really nice seeing how it's in the city. Parking is a drag especially if you want to be out past 8p.
Perfect place to rest and make meals while in Chicago! Street parking is easily available before the late evening (then most residents have taken the free parking). Walking distance to bakeries, cafes, basic groceries. Comfortable beds and quiet street!
Cute little VRBO. We appreciated the bottles of water in the fridge upon arrival. Also appreciated that K-cups were included. We didn’t cook anything, so can’t comment on that equipment. Neighbors upstairs were a bit heavy-footed, and occasional dog barks seemed pretty close, but that can happen anywhere. Overall, the walls could use a few touch-ups, & rugs on hall stairs need cleaning, but it is mid-winter in Chicago. We appreciated the clean scent upon entering, but the air freshener soon became overpowering in the cozy living room. We put it in a ziplock bag in the closet for the rest of our stay. None of these small issues would keep us from booking again. We enjoyed the area. Very close to where we wanted to be.
Check in process was easy and host was extremely responsive including ordering missing kitchen items from Amazon for next day delivery. Place was clean and recently updated but overall very basic upgrades. Comfortable bedding. Igniters on stove kept clicking so needed to unplug. I think service was called. Other issue with bathroom vent was addressed quickly so try a handyman visit. Missing kitchen table for eating so really no place to eat other than standing in kitchen or crouching over on the couch. Second floor walk up to note. Parking in the area is a bit challenging but nothing a few circles around the block couldn’t fix. Walkable to end of the brown line. Safe neighborhood. Pricing was fair and responsiveness of host made for an enjoyable stay. Recommend.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
While this apartment was clean and the host communicative, there were several things that made it not worth the relatively high cost to stay. (1) the AC. A window unit in the living room and a barely functional one in only one of the two bedrooms. Thankfully it was not very hot when I stayed, but it could be miserable on a hot Chicago day. (2) nowhere to eat - no table and chairs. To sit down to eat you will need to sit in the living room. (3) inadequately supplied. There were maybe 3 sets of utensils, for example. Overall I found it not worth the high cost to stay relative to other places I’ve rented in Chicago for a lower cost.
