A comfortable barn apartment near downtown Litchfield. The area is beautiful, with lots of hiking trails nearby. The apartment was well cared for. The kitchen was a bit sparse, but the host provided the extra things we asked for.
Hosts were readily available, pleasant and helpful. Accommodations were very comfortable and homey. Two bedrooms were furnished with some vintage and antique furniture. Much better than a Hotel or Inn. It comfortably accommodated the 3 of us. Wooded property with pond and pet mallard ducks was charming.Location was very convenient to Litchfield and Torrington. There were several negatives meeting our expectations however.. 1.) Internet connectivity and performance was VERY poor and more time than not was unavailable. This significantly affected TV reception as well.2.) While there was a kitchen with stove, refrigerator and toaster oven there was no microwave. We intended to eat more frozen meals heated in a microwave to reduce the time and expense of eating out. Hosts told us we were the first to mention lack of a microwave as an issue. We purchased one for 99 and gave it to relatives when we returned to Ohio.3.) The unit was on the second floor with reasonably steep stairs. My wife had recent knee surgery and I also have a bad knee so climbing the stairs was an issue. More rooms were being readied on a third floor, which may be a negative for older tenants.

Respectfully, the description of the property includes that it is a walk up on the second floor. Guests have not complained about a lack of microwave because the listing does not include one. It also does not include a TV, so its a bit unfair to dock us because you did not read through the description of the property. You did not mention how understanding we were when you almost burned down the apartment by leaving a plastic coffee pot on the stove, which melted all over, and then took the liberty of replacing it with a cheaper model, one that was not the same.
