About this property
Stylish flat by Borough Market and the Shard
TL;DR (or scroll for full details)
Design-led one-bed flat in Zone 1, steps from Borough Market, The Shard and the South Bank. Sleeps 4 comfortably with smart features, hotel-grade comfort, and thoughtful hosting. Quiet, stylish, and perfectly located to explore central London on foot or by Tube.
________
Set just off Borough High Street, this quiet, design-led flat offers a rare combination of space, style and location in Zone 1. It’s an ideal base for exploring central London on foot — with Borough Market, the South Bank, Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe all just minutes away. Cross nearby London Bridge for the City and Sky Garden, or walk a little further east to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.
This is my home, not a short-term rental. It’s a well-maintained, thoughtfully designed space that I’ve hosted from for over a decade. As a Superhost with 10+ years of experience, I aim to offer more than just a key and a bed — you’ll find personal touches and local knowledge to help you feel like a Londoner, not just a visitor.
The block itself is peaceful and neighbourly, with long-term residents and a quiet, respectful atmosphere — rare for Zone 1.

Hosting style
While I'm new on VRBO, I've been doing this for well over a decade as a host and superhost, and 15 years travelling, so I know what matters in a good stay — and I pay attention to the little things. This is a home experience, not a hotel one.
• A digital welcome magazine with local favourites
• Curated Google Maps with restaurants, walks, and museums
• Restaurant recommendations — and bookings if you’d like
• Quick, helpful support anytime
• Any issues resolved promptly, without fuss
For stays of a week or longer, I include free laundry collection and return and offer you either an English breakfast at Roast in Borough Market or afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason.
Why guests love it
• Boutique hotel comfort in a real home
• Central London at your feet — but hidden away from the crowds
• Quiet at night, stylish by day
• Hosted with care by someone who knows the area inside out as well as knows how to host and guest.

About the host
Your host

I'm Adam, living between London and the South of France, commuting regularly. While new on here, I've been a short stay host and guest for 15 years, 10 of which were as a superhost. I'm a media professional, author and part time lavender farmer. The best part of hosting to me is ensuring guests have a memorably stay at my home and really feel as though they've lived like a London while here, capturing the best of this great city but also being able to live in village London.
Why they chose this property
Borough to me is by far the most authentic and interesting part of London. It's just over the river so it's proper south London (that's a thing) and you never really need a car now as you can walk everywhere (there are over 300 bars and restaurants within 15 minutes from my place) or you can grab one of the buses or subways. I live in the district where Charles Dickens grew up (his father was incarcerated in an old debtors prison that was about 100ft from the apartment. Charlie Chaplin and Boris Karloff lived around here as well as Michael Caine.
Borough Market is far more than a tourist destination. It's our local whole foods market and just buzzes with the World's visitors that makes it vibrant and exciting. If you're a true London, you love the richness and diversity that all nations, cultures and religions come to our great city.

What makes this property unique
What I like about my home is that the block is extremely quiet - the residents living there the whole year. We are two minutes from one of London's busiest roads and you don't hear a thing. You'll see how well you sleep at night in the bedroom with the blackout curtains.
I love that I can look out the window and see the Shard (yes, anyone in London can do that, but quite like my view).
