About Stacia Takach
We are the Takachs'; Stacia & Mike {parents Issac and Louie :) our adorable yet rambunxious brindle male boxers!} We are small business owners who currently live in Cape Cod Massachusetts. Michael is a stone mason and Stacia runs our three small businesses. We welcome you to The Bear Den and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Lake Placid is a magical place for us. On our second date in 2004 we visited Lake Placid to take in the splendor and beauty of the Adirondacks amidst the peak of Fall Foliage! Lake Placid is where we fell in love, got engaged and eventually married on the shore of Lake Placid six years to the day of our first trip here together! For years we had been searching for a property that not only we could love but we could share with others that feel the same way we do about the Adirondack Park! We hope that you find as much joy as we do when staying at The Bear Den. Weather you are on a family vacation, Ironman training week (or weeks), romantic getaway, honeymoon or just a quick trip with family and friends to get back to the beauty of the Adirondacks we know you will make memories that last forever! WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME and we hope to see you very soon..............
Stacia Takach purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Stacia Takach chose Lake Placid
We wanted a property that would offer people the best of both worlds. To be right in town (less than 1.5 miles form Main Street Lake Placid) and also be in a wooded setting. The Bear Den will give you the privacy and seclusion you are looking for but you are steps away from any activity or amenity you could wish for.
What makes this Cabin unique
Our cabin is in a secluded location but steps away from town. The Bear Den can accommodate 6 people.

Perfect getaway
We wanted a quiet, cozy weekend for our 10th anniversary and this was what we hoped for and more! Mike and Stacia were wonderful hosts. The cabin was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated with all the amenities we would expect. Being able to bring our dog so she could hike the nearby trails with us was icing on the cake. We'll be back!
Perfect getaway
This is our second stay here. We love the coziness of the cabin and the close proximity to Main St. We plan on making this a yearly getaway.

Outstanding cabin ,great owner, love to come back
Rustic Awesomeness
My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights in mid-November. This was a "down time" for the Lake Placid area. There was 8" of snow on the ground. Temps were in the 20's. We just wanted a weekend away and this was it!! We loved our stay and wish it could have been longer. The cabin was everything we were looking for. Adirondack details were everywhere. Kitchen was fantastic. Bed was extremely cozy and comfortable. The cabin smelled like a campfire (no need for scented candles!). We were smack in the woods, surrounded by Balsam fir and Birch. (yet we had a couple neighbors so, not too remote) 5 minute drive to Main Street and the drive was great! (Back streets of Placid I had never been on.) Stacia was awesome to work with. Great response time to questions. TV had hulu so we could watch our college football on Saturday and Netflix and Prime for a movie at night. ...Fireplace was great! Bathroom was also great! ...Suggestions: Fireplace - no kindling or newspaper to get a fire started. So, I had to go revanant and find dry kindling in the woods and some birch bark to get it going. Which was fun but some dry kindling would be cool. Kitchen: - Dim lighting. No potato peeler! Living Room: Couches are leather so they are slippery and cold (but, easy to clean and maintain for owner so, makes sense). That's it! Highly recommend. Just bring kindling if you want a fire and a potato peeler!! We'll be back!!
Amazing
By far, one of my favorite places to stay! An absolutely gorgeous Adirondack cabin... the pictures do not do it justice. All amenities covered, communication with the owner was instantaneous, highly recommended.
Perfect for our travels with our doggy
Well appointed, super comfy, cozy and perfect home base for our high peak hiking. After a long day of peak bagging, we came back and grilled steaks on the BBQ and slept soundly.
The trail across the street was a great place to walk our pooch. Morning coffee on the front porch rocking chairs allowed us to watch the hummingbirds play. Winding down by the outside fire pit or the indoor fireplace was perfect for our weary selves. Bonus: Enough hot water for three adults to take showers after a long day hiking and getting dirty (trails are like that sometimes).
We stopped by the StageCoach inn down the street and am interested in staying there next time. The third property on Lake Placid looks so interesting. Would love to do a family vacay there also.
A word about the neighbors dogs: Yes they roam but they are also receptive to verbal commands. We just told them ‘stay on your property’ or a firm ‘no’ and they stayed put.
Thanks you for sharing your property. We can’t wait to stay again in the future.
