There are State Parks on each of the headlands in site of the house. South across the river is a local favorite for kids and dogs. Farther south the Amanda Trail climbs through old growth cloud forest to Cape Perpetua, Oregon's highest coastal peak. Walking north on the 804 Trail is 1.7 miles of gentle scenic path overlooking dramatic rocky bluffs, tide pools, churning sprays, and pocket beaches, ending in 7-miles of pristine white sand, great for a day of play or even a bike ride to Waldport on packed sand! With viewpoints, seating and easy access, the 804 is also ideal for those with limited mobility. For lovers of whale watching, king tides and winter storms, this diverse and dramatic stretch of the Oregon Coast is an absolute 'Must See'.
