Feels like home

This property is great! It is perfectly located just outside downtown and a short ride from the airport! The photos are very accurate and the house is very comfortable for a large group. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The house is graciously stocked for families/large groups. The owner is extremely responsive prior to and throughout the the stay.

Christmas in Austin

What a wonderful stay. We filled the house and little studio with family and Sarah couldn't have been a better host. Decorated Christmas tree included! The place was perfect for our get together, right down to the piano. We baked and cooked and the place was comfortable and perfect for our stay. Family runs along the river, too. Thanks Sarah

This is a very clean, organized, and nicely decorated house with a great layout to accommodate multiple people and/or couples. Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish and you'll find everything you need in a nicely organized binder once you arrive at the house. As for location, downtown was just a 2 mile uber ride away or there are a few eclectic (Austin vibe) neighborhood bars and restaurants within walking distance. We also enjoyed the direct accessibility to the trail around the lake.

Exactly as is advertised!

Absolutely wonderful and responsive host with great amenities. The pool was actually heated (I’ve been to plenty of pools that say they’re heated, but still aren’t warm enough to enjoy during cold weather, but this one was). The house is a little old, so my only advice would be to have a plunger in at least one of the bathrooms 😅 everything was great overall!

Austin getaway for 12

Our family of 12 visited Austin and stayed here. The kids had a great time with the distributed bedrooms. A cozy pool and spacious living area. The musical instruments were an add on given our kids were well versed with all types. Location was very convenient to capital, univ etc.Some possible improvements we felt are keeping the pool clean more frequently and providing better curtains to the upstrairs bathroom adjacent to the neighbors window.Overall the stay was great. The pictures in the frontyard came out great !

Great stay in a beautiful home!

Sarah’s place was amazing! It fit our group perfectly and location was close to lots of good spots and easy to get around. Check in and check out process was easy and she let us keep bags inside after checkout. The addition of the plunge pool was such a treat for us to cool off in the Austin heat. The owner did stay on property in the backyard garage apartment which wasn’t expected, we saw her twice but wasn’t an issue.

Full of Surprises

We had a wonderful stay and communication with Sarah was easy and clear. To start Sarah was able to a accommodate a early check in for our group and when we arrived we were surprised with how beautiful the property was! There was several great things included in the home that weren’t listed in the description but I won’t spoil the surprise for the next visitors. All I will say is you won’t be disappointed just book!

Beautiful house and fabulous location!

My group of 12 was extremely happy and comfortable in this beautiful house! The location was ideal and there were great restaurants within walking distance, as well as easy parking around the house. Sarah was the best host we could have asked for in Austin! She offered to help us book paddle boarding, allowed us to check in early and check out late, and left us a welcome basket with wine and snacks! She truly thought of everything to make this a great stay for us and was always available via text if I had any questions. I had a great experience all around and highly recommend this house!

Absolutely Amazing!

My organization rented this house to do an all-girl retreat. It was amazing! The owner made sure we had everything ready with no disruptions. Not to mention the amazing welcoming basket left for us. The house is very homey, very clean, and it has a lot of different things for entertainment. It is in a great centered location too. I loved it so much and would recommend 10/10!

My band plays the early show at Elephant Room every Thursday. Jazz, Americana + Singer/Songwriter, in the vein of Norah Jones.

We care about creating a space that is peaceful, inviting, & inspiring for our guests and our own family and community. Our friends and creative community tends to gather here .We also care deeply about our guests being VERY considerate of our neighbors.

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location. I am an enthusiastic local guide, especially for live music, as I've been a member of the music community for many years. Our block is a dead end, surrounded by the park and the lake. very quiet at night. The trial out front is a 10-mile loop. Between our house and the lake is only park land with baseball fields. In the winter when the trees are bare, we have panoramic views of the water.

The neighborhood overflows with exciting new foodie restaurants, bars, and some of the best food trailers in Austin. Walk 1 mile to the Rainey Street district.

This is a very spacious family home with a lot of love and good energy. You'll know we live there, but not be overwhelmed by clutter or our belongings.

The plunge pool can be heated up to 100 degrees! We do not want to charge an additional fee to heat it, but might need to, depending on the outside temperature and the water temp you desire. E.g. If you want it at 100 in the dead of winter, we'll need to charge a pool heating fee.

We are mostly solar powered + 13 KW of backup batteries to buy time, bridge the gap if our grid goes down. Gas heater.

What makes this property unique

My front porch swing is my spiritual center. I love to listen to the countless species of birds announce themselves one by one as they wake up in the morning and to watch runners, cyclists, etc. go by on the trail from the swing. There is a lovely evening breeze off the lake most nights and excellent shade from the Pecan tree.

Kids, will love the playroom, x box, spiderweb swing and porch swing.

Time Out recently published a list of the 50 coolest neighborhoods IN THE WORLD and they put us - Holly, Austin as #24.

Getting around is easy. We are a very inexpensive Uber, Lyft to downtown, SOCO, Barton Springs, etc. There are plenty of scooters and bikes to rent in our neighborhood as well.
