Havana Lane: An updated classic conch cottage with still a rustic edge!

Enter the private courtyard of the home, to a lush tropical oasis. The large, free form pool with coral stone patio makes you ready to dive right in and relax poolside amongst the tropical foliage. A new expanded Ipe deck area is perfect for an outdoor dinner under the stars or lounge in the oversized sitting area tucked into the landscape. If you follow the path into the back corner of the property you will be rewarded with a beautiful rope loveseat to curl up into, perfect for an afternoon siesta or a good book.

Step inside the French doors into the rustic charm of this cottage with its Dade County Pine walls and cathedral ceilings in the living area. All new flooring throughout the common areas compliment the wood walls. The kitchen has new retro style appliances, quartz counters and mosaic backsplash that retain the character of the house. There is a laundry room just beyond the kitchen.

To the front and back of common living areas are the two bedroom suites. You choose which one is your master suite! They both have the same character of the rest of the house with its rustic charm. Each bedroom, with queen bed, also has a bath attached with walk-in showers.

Havana Lane, the street itself, hearkens back to a time when cigar makers lived in the neighborhood, gathering on porch stoops to pass on the latest news. Near the notorious Key West Cemetery, the home is centrally located in an Old Town residential neighborhood, just a few blocks away from the White Street Art District. For shopping and nightlife, you can easily walk or bike to Duval Street, approx. 7 blocks, or the Historic Seaport.

Great property! The pool area is an amazing oasis with lush landscaping. The decor of the house makes you fell relaxed from the moment you enter. House is well equipped and in good repair. Host even gave us a bottle of champagne. And the location is a pleasant walk to anywhere in Old Town Key West. We can't wait to return to this property.

Fantastic property. Inside was eclectic and the 2 bedrooms were perfect for 2 couples. Pool and patio were awesome and the location in Old Town was out of the usual tourist traffic but close enough that you could walk to Duvall St in about 20 minutes

Beautiful home, even more beautiful garden and pool!

The home is absolutely perfect for two couples to enjoy, as you each have your own private bedrooms with attached baths. The common areas were perfect for relaxation and good times with friends. Tons of patio seating and the pool was massive for Key West! 10 out of 10, we would 100% stay here again!!!!

Oasis

Stayed here for 4 nights. Rented bikes to easily get around the island. Loved the serene backyard and pool. There were some planes overhead but nothing too bothersome. This was one of the best equipped houses we have rented. Plenty of towels, paper products and well stocked kitchen. Short walk to grocery store and a few take out restaurants (Sandy’s and Old Town Bakery and Pepe’s). Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect Place

What a great place to stay. The house was immaculate and well stocked. The pool was secluded with a balance of shade and sun. The realty company is very responsive and courteous. It is a bit far from Duval, looked closer on the map. Be prepared to Uber or rent bikes. The only issue we had was the bed in the master bedroom needs to be leveled a bit, you feel like you are sleeping on a slant. Everything else was fantastic, highly recommended! We may be back!!!

My husband and I have been staying in VRBO homes for over five years now, and this property was the most wonderful by far. It is more beautiful than the pictures can reveal. The linens were yummy, the home so comfortable. Everything we could have wanted was there. Except a cocktail shaker, which we bought and left for the next renters. But it was the yard, that incredible paradise, that really made the experience magical. The proplerty management was there in a minute for anything you might want, and they were so nice. It was lovely being far away from Devaul Street noise. So private. Only issue could have been the airplane traffic, but I think that is part of livin-the-life in Key West. So we did not let it bother us. As a side note, I'd like to thank Roscoe-The-Rooster, for making sure we were up and not missing a single hour of the georgeous weather Key West had to offer.

But if you are a granite & stainless perfectionist, you may be shocked, shocked! by the un-fancy summer shack homeyness of it all and wonder why no one has repaired the busted louver or replaced the chunk missing from the kitchen counter or ruined the whole place with generic luxuriousness.

Memorial Day Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was very quaint, and exactly as it was pictured. Other reviews were helpful (parking situation). When we got there it was quite windy, so the pool had a lot of debris in it, even though it had been cleaned the day before we got there. There is no vacuum sweeper on it, so it stayed pretty messy and seemed to have some mold in it (our observation as well as the pool guy's). Once a week cleaning may not be ideal given the amount of foliage around the pool. Also, slats in fence around the pool do not provide total privacy for sunbathing. It's a quite street, without a lot of traffic, so not a big deal. The only other concern was that the air conditioning was not sufficient for the heat, during the day. We slept fine at night, so it was not a major issue for us.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Horrendous. We have stayed 5 times before no property was like this. It was literally in am alley. Our friends were never on KW before the property outside the gate looked like a property stricked area. We were told our original rental was sold and this was better, no way. The 2nd bathroom was not much better than an out house. If we had been by ourselves we would have checked into a hotel. Rent Key West should drop this property from their list of rentals. Wood around counter tops broken and missing, you can see throughow walls and wI does. We have salamanders crawling on our bathroom. I was afraid to get your at night not knowing what I would step on. I can say more but all I say is do NOT rent this property.

A Rare Hideaway - 1 Havana Lane

The well maintained home and property are very nice - very relaxed setting. We used the pool and beautiful outdoor seating areas every day and night - the landscaped grounds are lovely. We cooked most of our meals (using either the well organized/efficient kitchen or the outdoor grill). The kitchen is stocked with all the appliances/cooking utensils we needed. The layout of the house is well thought out.The location is tucked away but close to the beach, stores and Old Town - we rented bikes so we either biked or walked to most destinations (we chose to park our car at the public parking garage which is located one-half mile from the property). In planning our trip we read other reviews for 1 Havana Lane and noted the comments regarding low flying planes - we were not bothered by the planes.Jann is the property managers we worked with and she is terrific. Jann was very helpful in general (in planning our trip and upon arrival) and also provided great recommendations.Our family is far flung geographically and it was so nice to be together at this wonderful property. We look forward to returning to 1 Havana Lane!

Little Oasis

We loved the property. It had every 5 star amenity. Comfortable, clean, all clad pots pans, smeg small appliances, adorable big chill retro appliances. Outdoor area so comfortable, amazing sonos stereo system around pool and home. Perfect for 4 people. Walking distance to little grocery store if you want to stay in and cook. 15- 20 minute walk to Duval or 5 minute Uber. Only downside, airplane go right over house. But didn’t really bother us, just gave it character :) We will definitely be back!

Key west sanctuary

From the moment you open the gate to 1 Havana Lane, you know you’re on vacation. The bright green tropical landscaping makes you feel like you’re in a private oasis. It’s hard to imagine anyone can see you when you’re dipping into the large crystal clear pool for the first time. The house is kitschy but perfectly decorated for Key West. The kitchen is loaded with all the appliances and utensils you’ll need if you decide to dine in. The only complaint would be the 330 am rooster call that’s been there during both our stays but not enough to keep us from loving this paradise. You will not regret staying here!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We took my 90 year old father for his birthday here. It was beautifully appointed inside and out. There were separate air conditioners in each bedroom so he could keep his on low and ours on high. The air conditioner unit in the living room didn’t work quite as well as it was a little warm but nothing we couldn’t live with. It’s clear that the owners put a lot of thought, artistic talent and effort into the decor and the kitchen as well. Super cute appliances and completely furnished with everything we could ever need. Excellent outside area, plenty of space and well-maintained pool. Super private and quiet. We rented a golf cart and that was perfect for us to get from there to anywhere on the island. I did see from another review a small complaint about no soap in the bathrooms, I thought that was a little silly but actually we didn’t have any either. Would have loved to have some small soaps and shampoo, etc. but it’s a small thing. Very clean, no bugs ( My wife is a bug phobe!). Highly recommend, would be thrilled to go back again anytime!

Absolute Bliss!

Our family of 4 rented this property to celebrate mine and my husband's 25th anniversary. It is as beautiful as the pictures depict, if not more!! Hanging around the softly lit pool in the evenings was a highlight. We had a small issue with an appliance. The rental company was easy to reach and communicate with, and they had it fixed immediately. We did Uber home twice in 5 days, but the walk to everything was very do-able. We would TOTALLY rent this lovely home again. Thank you so much for a memorable anniversary!
