The Olde Post Office Cottage was SO peaceful & quiet! However, there were still options for dining & shopping within a 20 minute drive. The cottage was cozy and perfect as a home base to explore a bit of Maine. The property owners were so kind and communicative with all the needed details. And, they provided a lovely bottle of Maple Syrup, which we tried out over the Blueberry Sampler at the nearby SeaGull Restaurant. We would love to stay here again at some point in the future!

Fabulous Cottage with Private Ocean Acess

The cottage was picturesque and the surrounding gardens were stunning. There is a private road to the ocean where you can walk out on the rocks and explore or sit above the rocky beach and relax. It was a short drive to everything. We loved it.

This property is not for everyone. It is cute and very very small. It was great for our needs and the owner was quick to respond to our call and worked with us when a storm shortened our stay.

Small quaint cottage

Convenient to the whole Pemaquid area. The property and the cottage was nicely decorated. Cottage was very small and no place to store personal items or luggage - bathroom was tiny. But still, it worked out well for us.

Tiny delight

Location, location!! This tiny cottage is walking distance to Pemaquid Point and was a post office in an earlier life. Although small, it was well equipped and surrounded by flowers and gardens. The owner had numerous books about the area. We enjoyed sunsets and lovely dinners. Thanks for the memories.

Magical, Whimsical Fairy Garden Cottage

My husband and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary at this cozy cottage. All we needed for cooking and relaxing were provided for. We loved the location close to the lighthouse, art galleries, the fort, the beach, and great ice cream! Sunsets by the water were amazing and just a short walk from the cottage garden path to a private secluded area to rest on a bench or explore on the rocks. Our contact with our hostess Janet was lovely. For 2 people it was the perfect little anniversary get away for 2 nights. This was also our first time using VRBO and we were very pleased with the results! We already have another trip booked ahead with them.😊

Amazing location and cottage

This property absolutely lived up to its name and exceeded our expectations. Oftentimes terms like ‘cozy’ are code for way too small and uncomfortable. Not this cottage! It is perfectly appointed, has everything you need, and is adorably decorated. The landscaping is delightful and we very much enjoyed being able to walk right down to the shore for gorgeous sunsets - and amazing 4th of July fireworks (we could see at least 6 shows happening across the bay!). The lighthouse and all of Pemaquid Point is incredible. We look forward to coming back - this is a gorgeous part of Maine. Highly recommend a trip here!

Charming Little Cottage

I fell in love with this cottage from the pictures in the listing, and it did not disappoint! It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The landscaping and outdoor decor were just as charming as the inside. The location was ideal for exploring the beautiful Maine coast, the lighthouse and museum, area restaurants, and shopping in the quaint nearby towns. Janet was a fantastic host....always quick to communicate and give recommendations for places to visit. She left us a gift of Maine maple syrup and a sweet note upon our arrival. My daughter-in-law and I really enjoyed our stay, and we plan to return soon!

We stayed at the cottage for Christmas holiday. It was perfect. Beautifully decorated. Bed is super comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Special treat was the Maine maple syrupand a jar of blueberry jam we were given along with a beautiful Christmas card which I will be placing in a frame. We walked the Pemaquid loop every morning and enjoyed the beautiful ocean views. A total gem of a small cottage for two.

I am a special Needs Teacher from Boston area. My daughters spent their childhood summers at the cottage. One daughter works for Community Cocepts in Lewiston, ME and has a passion for sailing out of Round Pond.Another daughter works at Boston Medical Center and loves to kayak. I love to garden and walk to the Lighthouse during the summer months to watch sunrise. I love finding Antiques, sitting on the beach for hours or on the rocks watching the waves roll in. I look forward to returning to another season. Time away from the tv affords me the luxury of reading , being outdoors, refinishing furniture, cooking and working in my garden.

Why they chose this property

Since I was a freshman in college I have been traveling to this location. I came to Maine to visit a friend I grew up with and never wanted to leave. My daughters are grown and continue to come back to experience the delights from their childhoods; swimming, sailing, kayaking. We never ever had a tv and learned quickly that Maine meant time for them to develop their creativity and enjoyment of the outdoors. Reading the night stars, painting flowers in bloom, tending the garden and snorkling are still favorites. Maine affords me time to find treasures at local antique shops or flea markets, watch the sun rise at the Lighthouse, time to make whoppie pies, volunteer at the Fort Gift Shop. Most especially are the quiet rides on the Pemaqud River by Kayak and french fries at Pemaquid Beach.

What makes this property unique

Every corner one turns is eye candy. You must come to see it! Just beautiful. Lobster has never been so fresh. Under the canopy of trees the gardens bloom throughout all the seasons. My favorite are the wildflowers that peak out as the last of the snow melts. Mainers enjoy eating the fiddleheads that can be found in early spring . This time of year also brings the peepers who croak during the early evenings (Bullfrogs). So many warblers migrate through that it is hard to distingush them all during the spring.
