About this property

Iconic Post and Beam Lake House

This open floor plan, tongue-in-groove, post & beam Maine lake house fronts on the large but tranquil cove at Cape Monday on Long Lake. Facing north, the house features stunning views of both sunrise and sunset. Just a 50 minute drive from Portland Maine, makes this house easily accessible. The new owner recently up dated with a new on-demand hot water heater, gas range, stainless steel dishwasher, large stainless steel fridge, modern lighting and beautiful granite counter tops. This chefs kitchen comes well equipped to cook almost any meal. The basics include a traditional coffee maker, a Keurig, a pour-over coffee maker and a kettle.

The house features three bedrooms. One master, with a full on-suite bathroom, and two guest bedrooms. The master and the first floor guest bedroom have king beds. The other guest room has twin/full bunkbed, as well as, a twin bed. All beds in the house have hypoallergenic memory foam mattresses.

The house has a finished walkout basement with a custom sectional which pulls open to reveal a memory foam queen bed. The walkout basement also has a spacious covered deck with a teak table. The living room on the main floor has a large wrap around deck, which is accessible from the living room/dinning area or from outside. There is a large Webber four burner gas grill on the main deck, propane is provided. A large teak table on the deck comfortably seats eight, and holds an umbrella.

The house has over 100' of private water frontage, and has an ideal dock with a built-in bench. My personal favorite place to drink coffee and watch the sunrise. Two hardshell kayaks with paddles, along with a canoe, two paddle boards and life jackets are provided. Two large teak lounge chairs are also available to relax in. A perfect spot to have an afternoon cocktail and read a good book. The large built-in stone fire pit is the perfect place to roast marshmallows and listen to the loons after a long day enjoying the lake. Two large benches give more than enough room to relax.

The following linnes are provided; bath towels, sheets, blankets, napkins, and pillows.
Minimum night stay is 7 nights. Check-in/check-out are on Saturdays.
With the plethora of activities that Harrison, Naples, and Bridgton offer, this location is perfect. The tax-free North Conway outlets are only 35 min away.

This home is one of my favorite places to be, and I know you will love it as well.

Check-In and Check-Out are on Saturdays Only. 7 night minimum and rented out only in weekly time blocks.

A perfect spot for a Long Lake Family Vacation
There is clear pride of ownership in this home. Kitchen is well very well stocked and has everything you would need for cooking and entertaining. It was perfect for our family of 5 having two living spaces (including smart tv's and a great sound system) both with fantastic views of the lake for our teenagers. The upgraded AC systems made for comfortable sleeping in hot weather. All of the comforts were of high quality including all of the outdoor furniture and recreational equipment. The dock was perfect for our ski boat and the floating dock was an inviting environment for our kids to swim and lounge on their tubes. We could not have been happier with our choice. The owners were absolutely fantastic to work with and we hope we have the opportunity to return in the future. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay in your home!!!

The Perfect Getaway!
This property really impressed me! We searched high and low for lake front property with modern amenities and I'm so glad we found this one. The pictures do a good job of showing you what you're getting - a beautiful lake front dream home. Alex was great to work with when it came to check-in/out, but we didn't need him any other time because the house was so well maintained and curated for comfort! I stayed with my husband and one yr. old son and we had a great time. The finished basement made for a great playroom our little one to run around safely (supervised of course) which was wonderful. The backyard slopes down to the water, which was great for adults but less so for my still wobbly toddler. But we knew that going in and we made it work. We spent a lot of time on the deck too - he loved it up there and so did we. The view from the house was spectacular from dawn until dusk. One of my fondest memories was sitting outside after dark with my son listening to nature. Even he was soothed! I've never seen him so still while awake. If I had one piece of feedback it would be the mattress/pillows could have been more comfortable. That being said, it wouldn't deter me from renting again. In fact, I'm sure we will come back again next summer :)

Elegant property
Shady Pines is a beautifully designed, well curated and thought through property to get away from it all. The owners have thought about all that you need by equipping the cabin with top grade appliances, comfortable beds, beautiful decks with Weber Grill, well constructed boat dock, kayaks, etc. You don’t need to even think of bring that favorite chefs knife, no stick frying pan or pepper grinder to the cabin. They’ve thought of it all. Also great proximity to the local towns for grocery shopping and dining. We rented a boat for our week at Shady Pines and we had a great time.

Matched our high expectations
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful lake house. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you can possibly need while cooking countless family meals. The outdoor space is perfect for relaxing, playing games, swimming and kayaking. Our kids certainly enjoyed spending every day in the water! If we can offer one small suggestion, it would be to provide more life vests (there were 5) as to enable all 8 house guests to go out on the water at once. Overall we had a wonderful stay and didn't want to leave.

This is a gorgeous home. Welcoming, well-appointed and beautifully decorated. The setting and neighborhood are wonderful to be outside either in the lake or biking/running/walking. Owner is amazing and attentive. Our family of five had an incredible week in beautiful Maine!

Hi!
I'm Alex.
I'm so excited to be sharing my lake house with others whom enjoy Maine's beauty as much as I!
I moved to Maine about 7 years ago from the Southwest and haven't looked back. (Despite the sometimes brutal winters.)
I currently live in Falmouth, ME. I have spent time renting on Long Lake over the last couple of years, before I decided to buy.
I work in the medical field, but I try to spend as much time at the lake as I can. I look forward to you and your family enjoying the lake as much as I have.

Why they chose this property

I love Long Lake. There are so many reasons why I decided to buy here. For starters, Long Lake is an average of 10 degrees warmer than Sebago. This is because the deepest section is only about 59 feet, versus 316 feet in Sebago. The cove the house sits in is so calm and quite. Many mornings the water looks like a mirror. Morning is my favorite time at the lake. The water is so still, the sunrise is amazing, and all the Loons are out with their babies splashing and singing to each other. Its a magical time. The lake bottom is about 10 feet deep off the end of the dock, which is perfect for swimming. The neighboring towns are so close, there is always something to do. Even on a rainy day. I know you will discover your own favorite aspects of this property and long lake.
