We had an amazing stay! Photos were accurate. Place was clean, beautiful and tranquil! Just what we were looking for. The view was spectacular with the fall colors. We enjoyed some local hikes during the day and when we were relaxing in the evening we could look up and see the sky right from the living room. The host was very responsive. Not that we had to reach out. I did let her know when we arrived as it was mentioned some people had challenges find the place. We used Apple Maps and did not have any issues. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful get away.

The house itself was beautiful, and the location on the lake was picturesque. There were undoubtedly several aspects that needed improvement before I could recommend this rental to anyone else. First of all, an error in the provided directions to the property caused us to travel about two hours in the wrong direction before we realized the mistake. A few key things were missing that would have improved our stay, including pillowcases on one of the beds, a coffee maker, baking trays, wine opener, and salt/pepper/oil. There were only four of us staying here this weekend, and there wasn't enough seating for us to eat together at a table or relax comfortably in the living room. We did make use of the canoe, which was fun, enjoying an evening on the lake. It seemed we were among the first renters for this property, and hopefully, it will improve in the future.

Why they chose this property

As soon as we came into the area for the first time, we knew we wanted to stay forever! We love the tranquility, gorgeous views, and slow pace of the life up here. We also knew we wanted to be close to winter activities, so the proximity to the ski slope and snowmobile trails was a major bonus for us. We love looking for loons on the lake, and moose by the roadside. We haven't seen one yet, but let us know if you do!

What makes this property unique

Aside from the obvious- killer views and Waterfront Location!! We (and when I say we, I mean me) have put attention to detail into every item in the house, because this is a home for us- and we wanted it to feel like home for you, too. From the Pendleton bedding to the locally sourced furniture and raw wood finishings throughout the house, we tried to honor traditional Adirondack Interior Design as found in the Historical camps, combined with modern comforts. We know you will notice and find little things as you stay (handblown glassware in the pantry, handwoven custom wicker end tables and baskets in the living room, luxury mattresses in the bedrooms, etc), and hope the little details bring you as much joy as they bring us. We have also kept everything non-toxic and sustainable where possible to reduce VOC's and toxins in the house for all of us as well as to reduce our impact on the environment. We are big believers in keeping our world beautiful for the next generation. The property was designed by a locally renowned architectural firm, which we would love to chat about if you're into that stuff! But we think that the proof is in the pudding, and the real showstopper here is Nature.
