For our for first stay in Nova Scotia we had no idea of distance from everything but we managed with driving. This place is great for families with young adults. Few more water sports IR paddle boards. Overall great stay.

Thanks for choosing my cottage, sad to see it didn’t meet 5 star rating for you, would like to meet your expectations should you think anything needs to be improved.
Pls come again!
The cottage was great with only two small suggestions: the steps from the driveway to the cottage could be fixed up some and also a table on the beautiful patio would have been nice. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed and more! We enjoyed the lake - canoeing, fishing and swimming! Even had a feed of bass for supper on night! Also enjoyed the close proximity to Chester, Mahone Bay & Lunenburg! Very enjoyable weekend!

Thank you for your review, and there is a folding table under the loveseat for the use on the patio, so sorry you didn’t find it, I will put it in the welcome message for my other guests. Thanks for pointing it out.

Had a fabulous stay in a well kept property in a gorgeous setting!
All necessities we needed were available for use. Loved listening to nature's music consisting of a variety of wildlife that has made their homes on the lake
( birds, loons, ducks and geese and frogs). The only downside is that all 3 of us found the beds hard and we would have wished there was a warf to swim or fish off of. The water was warm and clean.
Thanks for the hospitality!

We stayed in the cottage for a week and change in early August. It was rainy way more often than we would have liked, but we made the best of it. The lake is definitely the highlight. It's a lovely lake, quiet with lots of coves and islands to explore. Most of the time we felt like we had the water to ourselves.
The cottage itself is comfortable and spacious for all of us to be inside and have some personal space. But sadly, there is no covered outdoor space to escape the rain or hang wet stuff protected from the next downpour. The deck is huge and would be a fantastic place to lounge and watch the water, but there's no furniture to do so.
The location is definitely off the beaten path. We occasionally heard another car, but mostly it felt like we were out in the woods.
Unfortunately, one issue keeps us from wholeheartedly recommending this cottage. The listing said there is a washer and dryer, and we packed expecting them. When we arrived, we couldn't find them and asked the host if they were hidden some where (there's a garage and lots of locked closets, so it seemed possible). We were told there's no laundry. They were apologetic, but also said that other guests have had the same question and they didn't know why the listing was inaccurate. The nearest laundromat is an hour away. We opted to make a day trip to Lunenburg and had a picnic while the clothes tumbled. Not the end of the world, but a pretty significant inconvenience to be sure.
Two friends and I rented this place for a month - first thing I would say is that the pictures do not do this place enough justice - we weren't sure if there was going to be easy access to the lake but there is a little beach right in front of the cottage and the way in is easy peasy - swimming in the lake is wonderful - it is a big, beautiful, clean lake that isn't reedy or gucky - we loved it and swam and kayaked every single day - the fire pit area is also really nice, as is the side yard with nice trees for shade - the nature around the place is plentiful - we saw eagles and turtles and bunnies and hummingbirds and at night the frog song was lovely - the cottage itself is a sweet, casual family style cottage, the downstairs is nice and cool for those who run hot in the summer - our host was great & readily available to answer any questions we had - there is no internet access but cell phone reception is good and you can use your data - nearby New Ross is good for milk and bread and firewood - we really enjoyed our time here and would recommend this cottage - we might even be back next year!
The fees could be a bit lower for the winter months but overall it was perfect.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Nice location but make sure you count every utensil when you arrive.
The location of this place was very quiet and peaceful. The place was very clean, if not eclectic - nothing matched which at first we found charming. We found the beds too hard and had to Purchase foam mattress pads to make them comfortable. The closest town being an hour away. While the owners were very available prior to our visit and we knew everything beforehand, they never followed through on having a life jacket for a ten year old. Thankfully we knew someone down the road who had one. After we left and they cleaned we were informed that two spoons were missing and that they knew they were missing as they had purchased a new set and we were the first people in. We were informed that we’d have to be responsible for the purchase of a new set.

Thanks Toni! Price reflects the cottage, it’s a cottage on the lake not a hotel chain in the city. When you book that is what damage deposit is for and that is the only thing that is counted- cutlery, which was replaced just before your arrival, wasn’t hard to see missing spoons and as a not big hotel chain I do not have spare reserves, have to go and buy a new set.
The property and camp was exceptionally clean. The communication with the owner was amazing. I would stay again, and recommend property to anyone.
Very little, to no issues at all.
Very happy.
We really enjoyed our nine-night stay. The cottage is well-appointed, clean, cozy, and sleeps three couples comfortably. We swam, canoed, fished, went for walks around the neighbourhood, and enjoyed the horseshoe pit. Most nights we had s’mores and other treats around the campfire, and on some others we played board games at the spacious kitchen table. This is a perfect space for a great family vacation.

Thank you very much for your review. Pls come again!
The cottage is beautiful. We were so surprised to see how big the property actually was as you cannot see the side lawn (were horseshoe pits are) in the pictures. The water is gorgeous sand bottom with some big rocks you can just walk around. Absolutely no ticks or mosquitoes during the entire month we stayed. Lots of wildlife and we met some of the neighbors aswell. It was a perfect vacation. Ty Azhar and your family for allowing us to enjoy such a gorgeous cottage!
