Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy
With our home under construction, we booked this local property for our son’s graduation. Upon arrival on Friday evening, we began getting calls, texts, and messages stating we were being watched on camera/questioning the number of cars. With traveling family arriving our local family came separately to help arrival. On Saturday, with local family assistance, visitors parked elsewhere to not allow more than 4 cars on property. Still, less than 24 hr into our stay, visitors were asked to leave and told we were in violation. Rather than assess the situation or offer a practical solution, mgmnt jumped straight to canceling our entire stay. This decision forced our traveling family off the property, ended our celebration, and left us scrambling for lodging. We were given 30min. to vacate; we complied respectfully. It was clear we were making a concerted effort to leave when an alarm was triggered; the blaring siren terrified the children who were gathering their things. When we asked about a discount or refund of our 3k weekend rental, we were promptly denied under the guise of a contract violation. The combination of zero flexibility, constant monitoring, and an alarm blaring over a family exit was unnecessary. Pros: beautiful, well-kept home; good layout for families. Cons: intrusive monitoring; no day guests allowed; reservation canceled with in 24 hr w/o refund; alarm triggered while exiting; no rear shade, If you expect day visitors, get prior approval or look elsewhere.
