About this property
Enjoy A Suite With A Large, Furnished Waterfront Deck Viewing Boats & Islands.
Your suite is walkable to all of downtown yet has a large private deck for relaxing after a day in Acadia National Park. Acadia surrounds downtown Bar Harbor, and you can even see Bar Island from your suite.
Your private furnished deck is located near the Bar Harbor town pier so you can view the rocky coast of Acadia, schooners, whalewatch & lobster boats, colorful sunrises & sunsets.
Your spacious suite includes kitchen, living area, WiFi, cable/dvd, AC. Amenities, from wine glasses to picnic baskets, enhance your visit.
Stroll the historic waterfront to shopping, boating, hiking and great dining. At low tide you can walk across 'the bar' to the top of Bar Island, which is in Acadia National Park. From Bar Island you will see the bay, village and mountains. You will even see your suite.
The waterview suite truly offers what we call 'B&B hospitality with hotel privacy'.
Bar Harbor is a pedestrian's dream. You can actually park your car in your designated spot and never have to drive: walk to grocery store, natural foods store, Sunday farmer's market, boating activities, museums, restaurants and galleries.
Day hikes for all abilities are offered. You can kayak with Registered Maine Guides or enjoy some of the county's best Whale Watching. 50 miles of car free bicycles trails are available for your enjoyment. Meet the artists at fine art and craft galleries. Dine in numerous fine restaurants or on your own private waterview deck.
While we book mostly to couples this unit is suitable for bringing along a child or another family member. There is a separate king bedroom plus a futon in the living room area.

About the host
Hosted by Sherry Rasmussen

Sherry and Ivan have been involved the ARTs in Bar Harbor since the early 1970’s and participate in local ART events such as First Friday ART walks. Ivan, who was once Bar Harbor Harbormaster, has spent most of his life near the ocean first in his native Oregon and now on Mount Desert Island, home to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
Sherry traveled extensively as an international flight attendant. Though her travels took her to many beautiful destinations, she says that Mount Desert Island is truly one of the world's treasures.
The beauty of the island is what drew them to Bar Harbor. The magic of the island will captivate you as well.
Ivan captures the beauty of the Acadia in his watercolors that he sells in his own 'ART on West' and other galleries.
Bar Harbor is one of Maine's most walkable communities so Sherry and Ivan live right in the downtown for the convenience of walking to movies, theater, dining, boating, shopping and more. Suites visitors enjoy walking or biking into Acadia National Park. A frequent question asked, " Is Bar Harbor near Acadia National Park?" The downtown is surrounded by Acadia National Park and nearby Bar Island is just a short walk from your suite. Did you know that the 'bar' to Bar Island is the reason for the name of Bar Harbor? You can see Bar Island from your suite. It is one of several islands of Acadia and the only one that is actually walkable from Bar Harbor!
