Morning Glory Cottage is a charming and idyllic cottage right in the heart of Union Pier on "lake side" of Red Arrow Highway. Decorated in an updated "cottage bright” style, this home has lots of whimsy and charm. There are two bedrooms on the main floor; one with two twins, the second has a full bed. The master bedroom suite with the queen bed is located upstairs and has its own private bath with shower and Jacuzzi tub.

The kitchen, living and dining area are all one room on the main floor. Outdoors you will find a lovely front screened porch, and in the back a small patio with a hot tub (open Memorial Day--October 1st). Walking distance to the charming shops & restaurants, just over a block to the public beach, McKinley Beach, in Union Pier.

*All Guests required to sign and return our Guest Occupancy Agreement.

**Minimum age of 25 years old to rent.

Great spot close to the beach

This updated cottage uses all of it's spaces to the max! We loved the screened in porch and outdoor spaces. It even has an outdoor shower to rinse off beach sand.

Great Michigan Cottage

This cottage was well appointed and in a great location. Walking distance to the beach and shopping. It was perfect for our family of 5 and had an amazing experience.

We absolutely loved our stay! The location was perfect—quiet, peaceful, and very clean, which made for a relaxing experience. The only small issues were that the front door lock was a bit tricky to use, and the refrigerator didn’t feel very cold and had a slight odor. It wasn’t a major problem, but something to note.Overall, we had a wonderful time and would love to come back next year around the same time. We're actually interested in booking it now if possible! I will add photos later, thanks.

Perfect for a family of four

We booked this last minute and it turned out to be an excellent location and house. Walk to McKinnley beach was so convenient. We also had lots of shady streets to walk for exercise and enjoyed walking to Black Currant for delicious treats. The house had everything I we needed, the front porch was great for morning coffee and reading. We grilled and used the hot tub. Overall a fantastic rental!

Beautiful cottage that was close to the beach and had all the amenities you needed!

The property was very clean and well cared for. The house was beautifully appointed and had all amenities you would need! A very short walk from the house to the beach! Loved the back patio with fire pit and hot tub! We also really loved the screen porch! This house had everything we needed for our weeklong stay. The rental company (Bluefish Vacation Rentals) was very attentive and professional to work with. Would highly recommend renting with them! We had a wonderful vacation!

Summer vacation Union Pier 2022

The property was well taken care of and included all the amenities for a wonderful weeks stay with family. It was a short walk to the beach as well as walking distance to downtown Union Pier. The only thing probably missing would be a wagon to be able to haul things to and from the beach. Definitely not a deal breaker!!! The interior was immaculate and so quaint and beach like. We all very much enjoyed our stay and would have easily stayed longer if we could have.

Excellent location to beaches

The cottage was a perfect size for our family of 4. It was very clean. They had the lights turned on for our arrival, which made it look so cute. Easy 5-10 minute walk to 4 beaches (Townline, McKinley, Morris, Berrien) and to "downtown" UP, Seedz Brewery, Union Pier Social, Whistle Stop. This cottage is very close to other cottages but we didnt have many people around during our May-June stay. There is not a fire pit, but there was a Solostove...we didnt use it. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Lovely, wonderful family fun fall weekend

I’m so happy we selected this beautiful home for Fall Break. The home is exactly as pictured. Beautifully decorated, with all the amenities one would need. Our 2 kids enjoyed their rooms and slept really well. The master BR was also very comfortable, excellent bedding/sheets/towels etc. The location is perfect - a pretty 5-min walk to the beach where we went to stroll along the sand and watch those gorgeous Lake Michigan sunsets. Location is so pretty - the home is set back and surrounded by beautiful trees. There are neighbors around but the trees make it very private. We enjoyed the front screened-in porch. You can tell the owners treat this place with lots of love. We look forward to coming back again and highly recommend to others. Thanks for a great stay!

A pleasant weekend in Union Pier with a few hiccups

Morning Glory cottage, managed by Bluefish Vacation Rentals is a cute little home nestled in the woods of Union Pier, MI. We share the home with our cousins for Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful stay full of good visits and beautiful weather. The walk to the beach is easy too. There were just a few things that could have been better. First, when we arrived the property was80 degrees and it was a HOT day. We contacted the property mgr and while waiting for the handyman to come my husband figured out that there was an electrical amp that needed tripped and we got the air fixed and running. Next, we discovered that the hot tub was not full enough to use, so we had to fill the hot tub and the washer/dryer unit had a broken leg so it was off and when it spun out it made a horrible high pitched sound and shook. We also fixed that. On Sunday afternoon we texted the contact number to ask if we could check out a couple of hours late. We received a return text asking us to call the management office to arrange a late checkout (it was Sunday on a holiday weekend - but we did call and left a voicemail) Rather than calling us or texting us back, an email was sent and with being on vacation we did not receive the email because we were not checking emails. I responded to the email once we were back with our concerns and the repairs and no one reached out to discuss any of it. For the price I would not rent this house again due to the things we had to fix and the poor cs

Summer vacation

Nice compact cottage for family of 4. Loved the light and airy master suite upstairs! Missed not having the fire ring that was shown in photos (as we really wanted to make s'mores). Couldn't use outdoor shower as hornets or similar stinging insects came swarming out when we turned it on the first time. But it was a really short walk to the beach, which grandkids loved!

This little cottage is just perfect. Clean, perfect location, everything you need, and super professional experience with rental office. We wanted a quick, relaxing getaway from Chicago, and this was just that. Can't wait to visit again in the summer!

Whimsical Weekend

The cottage is lovely and comfortable and tastefully and cheerfully decorated. The beds are comfortable, and the linens are quality. Nice appliances and bathrooms. We did not use the hot tub. Checkout process is reasonable. Overall the cottage was clean. The screen porch gets good sunlight exposure and is lovely with a huge dining table and cute decor. Re communication with manager, I tried to call them once but lost my signal. My husband then left them a voice mail from his phone. About 20 minutes later, I messaged them to disregard along with my security deposit. So I never actually connected with them.

Cottage size and amenities were perfect for our family! Sump pump was horrendously loud!

We were traveling with three small children. The cottage was wonderful; clean, and stocked. There were even games in the closet and a few toys for the kids. Loved the hot tub and screened in porch! The beach was beautiful, only a short walk away and we had it practically to ourselves. St. Joseph has a great children’s museum and activities for the kids! My only complaint is the sump pump, which sounded like something was going to explode! You could hear it all over the house and very loadly in the bed room with the bunk bed where my four year old was sleeping. Please fix the pump! I want to come back, but my husband refuses unless the sump pump is fixed.
