About the host
Hosted by Susan Gemma
Although I live in MA, I am a RI native. My parents, eight siblings, and I spent every summer in Narragansett. As we got older, our significant others grew to love the summer times here as well. My immediate family is still very attached to the area, with two sisters and their families making Narragansett their full-time home and 4 of us calling Narragansett our peaceful retreat.
Our two sons Chris and Greg spent their summers here and their many cousins in their grandparent's home. They spent many hours on the beach. They also enjoyed biking, fishing, surfing, kayaking, and digging for clams. They are now happy we have our own home where they can enjoy themselves with their significant others.
We look forward to sharing our home with other families so they can also create their special memories and come to explore and love the area as much as we have.

Why they chose this property
We love the proximity of our property to the beach, Narrow River for kayaking, the tennis and bocce court, which are one block away, and the Narragansett bike path around the corner. We especially love the large, quiet backyard for playing lawn games, projecting night movies, star watching, and making smores around the fire.
Although family time and local activities like nighttime concerts on the beach or at the gazebo keep us more than occupied we also love exploring Newport, Wickford, Weaterly, and Mattunick. Live summer plays and musicals have been a favorite each year as well as visiting viewing stars at the observatory in Westerly. We still love finding new hiking trails nearby to hike, or new places to bike.
