Thank you for letting me know about the issues with spiders on the top deck. I have an annual Pest control contract and will call them Monday to have them come treat this. Your families were wonderful guests. I hope to see you again. Maybe we will have the water bike for your dad if you come back.

Our listing has always clearly stated that the rental is a separate apartment located on the top floor of the house. The listing photos also clearly show the property’s three levels, so access to the apartment requires two flights of stairs. We are sorry if this was not understood when you made your reservation, but this information was not concealed or omitted from our listing. We believe it is important that prospective guests understand that the apartment is on the top floor and that there are stairs to access it. We are very disappointed by this 1-star review, particularly because it does not reflect the experience you communicated to us during your stay. When we spoke at the property, you told us that everything was great. It was only after your departure that you requested a refund, stating that you were unhappy about having to use the stairs to reach the apartment. Our listing clearly states that the apartment is on the top floor, and the presence of stairs is not concealed or misrepresented in our listing. We understand that traveling with elderly parents can present challenges, and we certainly sympathize with that situation, but guests are responsible for reviewing the property details and determining whether the accommodations are appropriate for their particular needs before booking. After we declined the refund request, additional concerns were raised regarding chipped paint on the exterior stairs To be completely transparent, there is some chipped paint on portions of the exterior stairs, but the stairs are not hazardous. We welcome legitimate feedback and always take concerns about the safety and condition of our property seriously. However, we believe this 1-star rating is an unfair representation of the property and appears to have resulted primarily from our decision not to provide a refund for a condition that was clearly disclosed in the listing. We encourage future guests to carefully review the listing, including the fact that the apartment is on the top floor.
